Trump is starting to wear thin on me. I’d still vote for him over Hillary, but I’m must saying.
I’d like for him to start telling me what he’d actually do on several things. Like on Healthcare. Is he really still backing single payer? I mean come on he should be talking about his changed position on that by now.
Also I’d like to see less name calling. The anti-PC was great at first, but now it’s becoming more of a 3 ring circus show that has gone too long. Attacking back is great...keep that up but then also pivot and explain what he’ll do to help us.
Go to Donaldjtrump.com. his policies you ask about are laid out in black and white.
On health care he has said he wants competition over state lines. As an employer he has seen the problems with the current boundaries. That doesn’t sound like single payer to me.
TORT reform is the other thing we need. The third thing he has already addresed is what the illegals cost us - certaainly the cost to our health care system has to be huge.
I do appreciate a person who defends himself but sometimes the “loser” thing makes me wince. However, we’ve seen where playing nice has got us.
Honestly, do you really think one campaign has been only little red riding hood and the other only the big bad wolf?
“Is he really still backing single payer?”
You never hear him talk about it because he never really backed it. Those are accusations made in the campaign by opponents. I just heard Cruz say that Trump backs amnesty, which is Cruz’s former position.
He has posted most everything . . in writing . . at his website.
Much more informative than mere words, and he can be held to a higher standard when in office if he doesn’t perform as written.
I would also like all name calling to stop. Trump said in the first debate that single payer worked elsewhere but would NOT work here. He has repeatedly said that insurance available across state lines would work and be cost effective. But the same old single payer story persists here.
I realize before someone jumps in to attack that it would require cooperation from states but those state officials who don’t act in citizens best interest can be removed by voters. Competition works in a free market. Most on Obamacare are subsidized and end up on Medicaid anyway.
He has said it. Return to the previous system except allowing purchase of healthcare across state lines. They would work a better safety net for the poor. I have followed all of his speeches and meetings. Believe me, he said it.
He wants to repeal Obamacare; he’s for being able to buy insurance across state lines.
To understand what's going on you have to see that Trump is running not just against the rest of the field but against the system that created them. That's the root corruption that needs to be cleared out, and Trump is the only one with a clear strategy and plan to do that. Cruz and Carson also clearly see the problem as well, but I don't believe they have any clue how to deal with it effectively. They'll just rail against it to little avail.
If you listen to his many interviews, he's fully capable of speaking very articulately about issue and policy details and I expect we'll see a pivot to a more "Presidential" tone once the RNC capitulates and is brought to heel. Take a look at his position papers for examples. Despite media hyperventilating, these are sound proposals that give a glimpse into a Trump Administration's policy agenda--one that a goodly portion of the electorate agrees with.
In the meantime, it's the bluster that draws the media like flies to honey, so that's what you're seeing for the most part, so that's going to continue. It's part of the Let Trump be Trump campaign strategy and a key element of the Art of the Deal to elect the 45th President of the United States.
You have practically a whole year left of those two, so have your ear plugs on hand if need be.
