As the Liberal government goes to negotiate a new climate agreement in Paris, polling shows that climate change is a low priority for most Canadians.
When presented with a long list of policy issues, only 13 per cent of Canadians chose climate change as one of their top three worries, according to an Ipsos poll provided exclusively to Global News. Forty per cent of Canadians chose health care, and 39 per cent chose unemployment. Climate change even ranked below crime and education.
âThere are important issues and there are urgent issues,â said Mike Colledge, president of Canadian public affairs at Ipsos. While climate change is important, he said, day-to-day worries like a neighbour losing a job, or a parent in need of health services are almost always of greater concern.

If it is so successful, why are so many Canadians concerned about it to the point where it is their #1 priority?
I never understand why Canadians are not 100% for global warming, surely people in say Saskatoon do not want it to get even colder
With radical liberals, it is ALWAYS about POWER AND CONTROL. It has nothing to do with health care — ala Obamacare, for example. Socialism is the answer for NOTHING but empowerment of any government.
obviously, ted cruz has some influence here...
hehehe
go ted!
vote ted.
noted.
Only 9% of Americans in a similar poll.
The Igloo Poll, Nice:-)
They obviously require an extended stay in a reeducation camp, taught by their betters. /sarc.
If it wasn’t for “Global Warming” that started 18,000 years ago and continues today, Canada would still be under 1 Mile of Ice (2 miles in some places). It’s hard to be socialist buried under 1 mile of ice.
The Fear of “Global Warming” would be below zero % if I were a Canadian. I would thank God for Global Warming every day.
The poll also indicates another common feature of countries that have Socialized health care.
Health Care then rockets to the top of the political agenda, and stays there. Everyone’s most intimate, personal medical decisions become a political matter.
Your life saving treatment is denied by a bureaucrat?
Your only option is to go public and engage in political activism. Try and force them to back down.
I am struck by how many stories in Canadian newscasts are about individuals squabbling with authorities over their medical treatment.
Notice that healthcare is ranked #1. I guess the social paradise of Canadian healthcare is about as good as you would figure.
Why would Canucks be concerned about health care, they’ve had socialized medicine for decades?
"Looks like snow."
"No, I mean globally. What would it be like if the global temperature were 2 Celsius higher, eh?"
"It'd still look like snow."
“As far as single payer, it works in Canada, it works incredibly well in Scotland.”
- Donald J. Trump (D - Republican primary), Aug. 6, 2015.
Lol
Tediban will attack you.
Go Trump !!!
Maybe its a low priority because they are smarter than their government?
Yep. That’s my question. The answer is obvious, but no one talks about it.
Hrm... 23% want to limit immigration. I’d better act quick if Sanders or Clinton win. (HHOK... sort of.)
Trudeau like Obama will never listen to the Voters
Climate Change science carries the same weight as the scientific integrity of of Bill Nye (has-been children's show host), the accuracy of a political article in Newsweak, the love of freedom that Sheldon “Ceausescu” Whitehouse possesses or the promise of prosperity from extreme Communist Bernie Sanders.
