Am I safe on this thread or will I be attacked by a Trump supporter? (ducking)
I love freerepublic. But lately I’ve been called everything but a human being if I don’t agree with the Trump supporters. I’ve taken names for later reference.
I long for the humor, joviality, and the swapping of ideas. That is no longer the case.

But you'll live through the attacks as many of us have. Byron is the personification of the people discussed in the article.

I would have never expected so many people to ignore Trump's actual history, his behavior, his past ideas, and his words. His character doesn't matter to his supporters even when it includes a brazen Machiavellian conning of others and follow on bragging to that effect in his books. His words don't matter; his actions don't matter; he can praise Hillary and Bill; he can hobnob with them; he can fund them and many, many other Democrats. He can employ illegal immigrants. By simply capturing some of the language and acting forceful, if often crude and like a caricature, he meets the emotional needs of his supporters. The anger they show when someone mentions his insincerity is more what we're used to with the Left.

There is plenty of acrimony to go around. I have seen more desperation in the form of personal attacks from Cruz people than Trump supporters.

What is eye opening is the venom spewed by his cult to anyone that disagrees with trump. It’s what has turned me away from trump as option number two. Something is wrong with this movement.

It always gets pretty rowdy here during the primaries, but it does seem to be a little harsher this year.
I've found the venom directed at Cruz and his supporters to be especially strange, because Cruz is everything free republic is about as far as his conservatism goes. Yeah, he has some problems, but all candidates do. He's closer to what I'd consider the 'ideal' conservative candidate than I've seen that has a legitimate cahnce to win, at at least IMO.
My bottom line: support your candidate. Don't trash other conservatives. Don't trash other folks merely because of who they support.

I try not to post to the Trump supporters. When they comment to my posts they want to tell me that I can’t comprehend what Trump is saying or that they can’t comprehend what I’m saying always with an insult or two thrown in. That’s a liberal ploy.
