A one-party secret ballot with binding results seems like a primary to me.

The voting is open to anyone who walks in the door, even Democrats who want to change registration on the spot.

No absentee ballots are accepted.

If you want to vote, you have to be there at 7PM sharp, or before, so you can be sure of getting a parking place.

If you happen to have a job which requires you to work evenings, you are **** out of luck.

In my state, campaigning inside the polling place is against the law. I can walk in, cast my vote, and be out of there in relatively sort order. I don’t have to wait for BS speeches. I don’t have to interact with anyone except the poll workers who log me in.
