I don’t see how it’s bashing. People keep using words like “bashing,” “hating,” and “attacking” wrongly. Carter said something. Cruz quoted him. That’s not an attack or a bashing. I quote Trump and people say that’s hateful. Soon, we’ll reach a point where the only thing allowed by the guardians of Trump’s image to only say what’s approved by his campaign! LOL.

Cruz is a fool.

The Trump supporters he is able to peel off will probably go to Rubio.

If Cruz finishes in third he is done.

The narrative going into SC will be Trump vs. Rubio.

After the last debate I tend to agree. Rubio took it to Cruz and Cruz proved he was not the debater everyone thought he was.

Interesting how a senile old fart like Carter has moments of clarity.

We should know by now that since Jeb is history, the media and the GOP are putting their money on Rubio, hence his upsurge in the not so good news. IMO, Rubio’s greatest asset would be selling used cars, with his line of BS he’d make a million.

“Carter said something. Cruz quoted him. That’s not an attack or a bashing.”

1. Cruz is using the ad against Trump. That is an attack. Why would he spend his money if it were as benign as a weather forecast.

2. Context is everything:

a. It is Jimmy Carter

b. Carter is generally disliked by Americans

c. Cruz is attempting to tie Carter around the neck of Trump

d. Carter knows no one likes him, so he is using reverse psychology. When he said Cruz is not malleable, he conveniently ignores Cruz’s amazing malleability in working with his handlers by voting for TPA and the Corker bill, Cruz calling for more legal immigration and a 500% increase in H1-B visas, etc.

Not a good idea.

The voters don't like it, and Cruz' style works better if he's above and beyond the mudpit.

I love Dr Carson, but he got rolled like a country boy on his first day in the city. We need a tough and savvy president who will go toe to toe and nose to nose with Putin, ISSI and the Ayatollahs. Someone whom they fear, and lose sleep over. If that happened to Trump, the Cruz boy would still be in the ER getting stitched up. Trump is yapping now about to simply use it as a bat to smack ole Ted around.

So when someone quotes Trump, is that an attack, too? I think it is. No one should know anything about Trump, and no one should quote anyone who said something about Trump because that’s an attack.

You make an excellent point. Especially with people across the political spectrum disgusted with politics as usual, anyone who leaves Trump will not go to Cruz, so Cruz could cost himself second place. Is this Cruz being so clever he outsmarts himself, AGAIN? They may not just go to Rubio. Out of solidarity against what happened in Iowa, some might go to Carson. Some of the independents might choose to vote for Sanders.

Carter is generally disliked by Americans

Are you sure? Those of us who suffered through his Presidency really dislike his Presidency. That was a long time ago, so must voters don't have that personal memory. Since then, Carter's earned high marks as the best former President ever. And then there's the aspect of using the words of an old guy with cancer against another candidate.

I wouldn't call it negative, more like not real well thought out.

Of course Carter’s endorsement was meant to be a kiss of death.

Rubio is exactly who the establishment is pointing to. After they have destroyed all contenders worth anything we're left with a neutered candidate.

I may be hit by both sides but there is something different about the 2 candidates presentation that needs work. I support Trump but sometimes he makes me cringe with comments, but mostly many see him as outspoken and refusing to be limited by PC. Cruz on the other hand by nature has a delivery style when being non PC that can seem crass and nasty. Maybe it is that Trump is a “talker” and it all flows as natural. Cruz when not presenting facts seems so intense and almost abrasive even his smiles seem false. The video of Cruz doing imitations was painful to watch. On the other hand Trump’s facial expressions can be also. Seems they both could benefit by a re-evaluation of their presentation.
