Good points.
Trump did really well in Iowa....he didn’t spend 2 years there like Ted did when he should have been doing his senate job we were paying him for.
Also...the caucus were strictly dems or repubs...no crossovers, no independents....which Trump will get plenty of. Cruz is never going to get them. Cruz is only going to get those who are happy to be fooled by his phony churchiness.
Trump....right on trade, right on immigration, right on the 2nd amendment, right on GOP corruption.....and without those NONE of the rest of it matters. And the best thing..he is NOT a lawyer.
Concise. Pithy. And spot on there Aunt B. Btw Love Mulberry.
The main thing Trump accomplished in IA, though, is to egg Cruz into coming out as the calculating, underhanded, typical lawyer/politician he really is. Trump knows how to toss around the hyperbole and he knows how to climb down and say, "forget about it" at which time he does forget and won't get dragged back into it. He's achieved his goal so the hyperbole is over, that simple.
All the cheering the Cruz crowd are doing over 1 more delegate than two other candidates is nothing but whistling past the graveyard. Cruz knows, and any of his supporters who are honest with themselves know, that Cruz needed to win by ten or fifteen points or he wasn't going to get the momentum he was counting on having.
Rubio isn't coming out of nowhere. He's just picking up the support and money that was waiting in the wings to see if Cruz could pull it off at which time the Establishment, including Rush, would have embraced him. The main bone of contention "those Republicans" have with Ted is that he didn't wait his turn like a good team player. Nothing else. They know he has the right AKC papers, rolled over on the TPA, rolled over on Iran, and isn't making a big deal about the Ryan budget or Ryan priorities. IOW, Ted's solidly in the club when push comes to shove.
Trump's the only one who will do what has to be done on both trade and immigration. People who claim their theoretical Conservative principles are more important to saving the patient than stopping the bleeding are either stupid or every bit as much a part of the Establishment as those they whine about.
