Heilemann: Governors in GOP Field See Rubio as a 'Punk'
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 02/05/2016 3:14:16 PM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

With all due respect, indeed! On the Bloomberg TV show of that name that he co-hosts with Mark Halperin, John Heilemann today reported that the current and former governors in the GOP field--Bush, Kasich and Christie--think Marco Rubio is a "punk."

Clarified Heilemann: "when I say 'punk,' they have the same view that Hillary Clinton had of Barack Obama [in 2008]: line-cutter, punk, man of no accomplishment." Evidence in support of Heilmann's claim comes from Jeb's interiew on CBS today, in which he flatly asserted that Rubio had accomplished "nothing" in the Senate. Readers will remember that yesterday, Joe Scarborough grilled Rubio-endorser Rick Santorum, who struggled to name a Rubio accomplishement in the Senate.

I can hear Rubio himself saying “Governors in GOP Field See me as a ‘Punk’, and here’s why:”

Ah....

Establishment types are upset because a young bright guy is showing them up by articulating the issues and related policies better than they are able.

I’m sure lots of people know the real meaning of punk and still think it fits Rubio.

I remember another young bright guy articulating the issues and related policies better than anyone else...

He was pretty slick, too.

Conservatives of various loyalties have described Trump, Cruz, Bush, Rubio, Christie, Fiorina, Carson, and Kasich as frauds, liars, phonies, crooks, RINOs, jerks, stooges, shills, and every other undesirable thing you can imagine.

Since I have heard many of these terms applied to virtually every Republican candidate, I am close to saying "to hell with it" and not voting for anyone.

And I wonder how many other voters - worn out and sickened by the incessant Republican infighting and name-calling - might also sit this one out, especially if their guy - the only acceptable candidate, of course - isn't the nominee.

Weird since Jindal just endorsed him. At least we know he may be the only one. He needs to lose the nomination.

Go Trump.

If the election were tomorrow, I’d worry about that, but November is a million years from now in politics.
