I don’t know how you get single payer from not wanting people to die in the streets. I guess you have a vivid imagination. I actually think Trump’s medical ideas are great. There is no reason that just because you lose your job that you should lose insurance. You should be able to buy insurance from any state. We are able to do that with car insurance. My insurance company for my car insurance is located in Texas....USAA. Why shouldn’t medical be the same way. Cruz just wants the same thing as Obama but under a different name.
That's not exactly true. I own two cars in two different states. I'm not allowed to have them insured together. One contributing factor is the possibility that the rates are different in the two locations. This gives the insurance company the incentive to make sure I'm paying the proper rate for the location of the car. The other, though, are the state requirements. I'm required by each state to license the car in the state it is located. I'm then required by each state to insure the car in the state for which it has plates.
Dying in the streets is irrelevant. Under the law hospitals cannot turn anyone away if they have a medical emergency.
More than half the people I see getting care in the emergency room have no insurance. It will be worse as the lower class keeps reproducing and when all the mzzies get here.
Government health insurance is a scheme to keep hospitals from going bankrupt by transferring the cost of all the free care onto us taxpayers.
