Because genuine capitalism has never been practiced in their lifetime.
They have only experienced crony capitalism, so little wonder they reject that.

Depressing and disturbing.
And predictable, considering the "educations" they have received.

They can go to Cuba and experience it first-hand now.

Problem is the ‘crony capitalism’ that we have seen for the last 15 years. The banks and Wall Street funds get bigger and bigger, the ‘millennials’ who are struggling to find jobs, get raises, pay off student loan debts, are not seeing any future.
Of course they have a bad view of capitalism. Unless you are in the top 10%, pretty much everyone has a bad view of the way it now works.

Progressive Left Government has provided them and their parents free sh** for decades, based on massive debt and printed money, and they’ve also educated them that everyone is a special snowflake and ill-defined “social justice” spewed by the MSM according to the issue of the day, is what is important.
What should we expect?

Good. Let them live in a socialist country and I’ll live here.
We’ll see who wins.

If you go through 4 or more years of college being taught that America and Capitalism is bad and Europe and socialism is good, its hard to expect anything else..

Yes, they learned all about socialism on their new iPads. And they discuss it at Starbucks over their $6 lattes. While wearing their pricey hipster clothing.

Why wouldn't they?
1) They've been taught by brain-dead teachers all their lives that capitalism bad, socialism good.
2) The media -- which constitute their whole lives -- spew an endless stream of anti-business venom at them.
3) They have no investment in the capitalist system, but stand to benefit hugely from socialism. They're just passengers on the gravy train; someone else is shoveling the coal.

We’d better get control of the damned communists posing as teachers in our public schools. Loyalty oaths would be a good start, but only a start.

not surprising. The 7 years of the Obama great recession has allowed them to run up considerable college debt with zero chance of finding a decent job. They are soured on capitalism.

Proverbs 30:11 There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother. 12 There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness. 13 There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up . 14 There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men. 15 The horseleach hath two daughters, crying, Give, give . There are three things that are never satisfied, yea, four things say not, It is enough: 16 The grave; and the barren womb; the earth that is not filled with water; and the fire that saith not, It is enough.
Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. 7 As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame.

I have one daughter who is a dyed in the wool republican. I have another daughter who is conservative in her values (debt, abortion, etc) but for some reason Bernie is appealing to her.
When she was young I was a banker making a really good salary. She understands capitalism. She has benefitted from it, and she is appreciative.
But, she thinks that the chips are stacked against her and her peers. She thinks they got screwed by being told over and over (at school, not at home) that they have to go to the best colleges, keep a perfect credit score, and (in essence) be a good debt slave.
As much as I point out where her values are conservative, she just doesn’t see it.
She has been 2,000 miles away and living on her own since October. She works three jobs. And she’s never asked for money. I figure when she finishes her taxes for the first time (she freelanced all summer and she is going to owe about $1k) she will rethink her political angles a little better.

Because schools today don't prepare them for jobs, so they worry about who will take care of them?

I have been saying for years we are witnessing the death of this grand experiment of a Constitutional Republic.
The following quotation has been attributed to Tytler, although it has also been occasionally attributed to Alexis de Tocqueville: A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.
Communist Goals (1963)
17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.
28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state."
