Due to Scalia’s Death, a Third of the Supreme Court Will be Obama Nominees
Daily Sheeple ^ | 2/14/2016 | Melissa Dykes

Posted on 02/14/2016 5:17:31 AM PST by HomerBohn

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, a conservative in the highest court in the land, died in his sleep last night while on a hunting trip in Texas at the age of 79, further tipping what is supposed to be the highest court in the land.

Supreme Court justices are appointed for life. There are nine of them: the Chief Justice of the United States and eight associate justices.

President Obama has already nominated TWO of the nine justices in there... FOR LIFE. Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor. Now Obama is going to get a third?

That means a full 33 percent -- ONE THIRD -- of the Supreme Court will be derived from one of the worst presidents this nation has ever endured. And they're there for life.

Think about that for a second. Just let that sink in.

In the fwiw dept., Congress has the power to impeach a SCOTUS justice.

The GOP(e) fears the electorate even more than they fear the punk POTUS. He will not get a 3rd pick.

Turtle Boy has already went on record, if he backs down it will be one of he biggest political capitulations of our time, up there with "No New Taxes"

Flame me all you want but I will say it loud and clear.
The Supreme Court opening is the biggest reason not to elect Trump. Who Knows where he stands on a lot of issues. He could screw things up worse than they are already.
RIP Justice Scalia. You were a brave and honorable man. You are not easy to replace.

That is a frightening thought. Obama has already placed two unqualified anti-Constitutionalists on the court. With as much damage as the Supreme Court has already caused, we don’t need another anti-Constitutionalist who will rubber-stamp anything that advances a socialist agenda.

Is there a mechanism for removing justices who do not uphold the Constitution? If so, isn’t it time to exercise it?

I held my nose and voted for Romney. I have zero faith Romney would have appointed a strict constitutionalist to replace Scalia. More likely we would have gotten a Souter, a Roberts, or a Harriet Miers from Romney. Certainly we’d have gotten another graduate of Harvard, Yale, or Stanford law schools. Republican or Democrat they won’t appoint a legal scholar from a fly over country state university.

In order to accomplish the removal of the two lesbians from the court, we’d need a Congress composed of those who would honor the oaths they took.

One of? Please inform us of the President who was worse than this guy, he doesn't exist. Hands down, no argument, Barry is THE worst of all time. He is the first black President and the worst President. Leave it to the party of the KKK and the socialist holocaust to smash down yet again the pride of the black community, this was absolutely deliberate on their part, they deliberately picked the worst possible candidate just like they are doing now.

If the Republicans gain the White House and control both houses of Congress and that Bastard in the Oval Office sneaks in a recess appointment in early January 2017, they can and should “pack” SCOTUS with more than 9 justices to control the Court. Nothing in the Constitution about the number of justices in the Court.

Here is the sad news.He will nominate someone, but that nominee won’t be confirmed in 2016. Beginning in January 2017 until the new Congress is sworn in, a brief window will be open before Obama leaves office on 20 January, during which he can make a Recess Appointment. That appointment will then be able to sit on the court until the next Congress convenes in January 2019. The only recourse to remove that appointment before 2019 would be impeachment (highly unlikely).

The impeachment should have taken place during his first term. Republican behind the scenes puppetmasters orchestrated his second term by placing placid Romney in contention.

Of course the media will scream for return to full complement ASAP.

Nevermind the fact that SCOTUS vacancies have never been filled in a lame duck year, dating back to John Quincy Adams.

Congress should expedite a vote on Obama’s supreme court pick like Hillary has expedited release of her emails.

You’re right.

Romney would have been an American president.

HIs running mate is an enigma.

My best guess is, the boy king will nominate a hard left black. Eric Holder? A former attorney General. Alcee Hastings? A former federal judge.

Some Senator trying to make a point to the rabble in flyover country or one running for president will filibuster and try to put a hold on the nomination. A John McCain or Lindsey Graham will then lecture us on why presidents should have their judicial appointments confirmed. And by the slimmest of margins, Obama owns the Supreme Court.
Then, any Republican delaying tactic during the confirmation hearings will be exploited in the general election to guarantee at least 95% of the black vote. Shazam! Whom ever replaces Hillary on the ballot is elected. President, in name only. Guaranteeing the boy king power long into the future.

The following isn’t just for you but for “All” as well:

History doesn’t mean anything to Obama and his minions. He is going to use the precedent of “recess appointment” to appoint a SC justice, especially since he still is trying to ram through his radical environmental agenda (vis a vis his new EPA regulations that the SC just recently ruled should be put on hold until the lower courts more fully rule).

He’s going to use every tactic in the book to ram through another nominee. We must not even have a HINT of complacency about this. Obama has shown time and time again that he is more than willing to ignore history, the Constitution, the rule of law, everything to ram through his radical leftism.

Guaranteed, he and his minions are already crafting an excuse to ram through another appointee, and he’s probably going to try to use the “recess appointment” as this excuse, to not only forward a nomination, but get the appointee in without Senate confirmation. Bet high, settle for low. He’s going to do that, so that the Senate will “settle” and say “Give us time to confirm!”

But that’s what he wants eventually and will get that confirmation via the same strong arm tactics he used to get the Iran deal through. We must be prepared for this contingency. We can’t rely on historical precedent; it has never stopped Obama before.

Maybe it is time to thank all of those true-blue
American conservatives who refused to hold their noses
and vote for Romney in ‘12. Of course Romney being the
Marxist that he is would be picking justice candidates
from the same list as Obama.

Yah, right.

The analysis here is brilliant. The author took the number 9, divided by 3, and then produced the result 3, which is a third of 9.

Smart.
