Remember that Moore’s appeal was dismissed by SCOTUS without dissent.
The issue at hand for Pryor was not the display, but the judge’s actions in the face of a final ruling, all appeals, including two to the SCt, having been exhausted.
Pryor is a very solid judicial conservative, and his position on Moore was 100% correct from that perspective.
Obama’s pick is the one you want to be concerned with.

Pryor also received national attention in 2003 when he called for the removal of Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore, who had disobeyed a federal court order to remove a Ten Commandments monument from the Alabama Judicial Building.
