That was the first Gulf War(under George H. W. Bush). The second one(under George W. Bush) was justified by many reasons, WMD’s being only one of the reasons.

Yes, the first gulf war in the early 1990s was to free Kuwait. I don’t believe it dealt with spreading to other countries. Perhaps someone else could give info. It was conducted under George H.W. Bush and General Swarzkopf (sp?).

I don’t know any Cruz bots. But, what does Cruz’ view have to do with whether Trump is revising his history? It is possible that this is not an either/or issue. But, I haven’t heard any defense, yet, on why Trump is revising his position on the Iraq War. Do you know?

I’ve about given up reading these threads, (and have just erased three paragraphs of frustration.)
Tell me this. Is there anything your leader could say that would cause you to reconsider your support? Anything at all? Because I’m beginning to think there isn’t.
I do take some comfort in the fact that most people are voting for other candidates, but still...
If I recall correctly, our State Department in discussing Kuwait had made it appear we didn’t have any interest there. Saddam invaded, we said, wait, you can’t do that, and sent planes to Iraq to make sure they pulled out. Which they did. General Schwarzkopf was the leader of the coalition forces and Dick Cheney was Secretary of Defense.
