Electoral College votes will be split among the four contenders. Nobody gets a majority. So the election is thrown into the House of Reps, where each state gets exactly one vote. Wyoming gets the same one vote as does California. And since the ‘Pubs control a majority of state delegations, they will coalesce around a compromise candidate — probably Paul Ryan — and give him the winning vote.
In the meantime, the VPOTUS election will be held in the U.S. Senate, where ‘Pubs probably will have lost their majority in the Nov. 2016 elections. So the Dhims will be able to pick their dream candidate, Indian Princess Liz Warren, as VPOTUS.

No, the Electoral College won't split four ways. In txhurl's scenario, the third/fourth-party candidates will not receive any electoral votes unless Trump runs away with New Jersey or New York.
But, as when George Corley Wallace and the American Independence Party (AIP) split the vote in 1968, any States taken by the third party would benefit only the major parties.
A Trump demarche would split the GOP as Ross Perot did in 1992 and Theodore Roosevelt did in 1912. Whoever is the Democratic nominee would win the Electoral College.
And that would be Hillary, since The Bern is going to wake up dead in a hotel room before he gets the Democratic nomination. He simply will not be nominated, and the PTB in the 'Rat Party will make sure of that. Just watch.
