Years ago, in a High School history book I read where some old dead white guy said (more or less) We’ve created a wonderful Republic, IF we can hold on to it.” Kinda like that. Today, sadly, THE ISSUE IS IN DOUBT. Not looking to good at all.
I avoid TV, so I missed the news when the U.S. Constitution was repealed.
Hadn’t you heard?! There’s been more material added to the sad, sad story!
The People fought multiple wars, but put up little to no resistance to those at/inside the gates.
No cries or questions: ‘What Amendment authorized the transfer of such authority?’, ‘We the People never...’, ‘By what right does SCOTUS...’...
In fact, many clamored and clapped for the new ‘security’. Heck, like all Ponzi schemes, the 1st tier made out like bandits (pardon the pun).
With fresh $$ in their pockets, what did it matter sending little Jack/Jane to govt run ‘schools’? Did they not make out before? What harm can be done, right?
Then came the questioning, ‘Why are you taking MY $$ to give to another (welfare, MediXYZ)?’. But, by then, the precedent had been set. Watching their children, whom the govt had raised, rail against their parents and their teachings was just the icing on the cake.
These days, we just watch the buzzards pick the last vestiges from the bleached bones and wonder, ‘How?!’.
You don’t have to repeal what you can ignore.
