Cancer and ObamaCare: a Double Whammy

I'm coughing up $492 every two weeks for premiums and funding of HSA and Flex. My wife and I each have $3,500 deductibles and the coverage is 80% after deductibles are met. Do the math. Nearly $13,000 extracted from my pay check for premiums. $7,000 for deductibles. She had breast cancer in 2014/2015. Her deductibles and 20% piled up $16,000 of out of pocket expense on top of the premiums. Every time we thought the bills were fully paid, another party coughed up more billing. The HSA and Flex were totally drained. I have avoided any interaction with the medical community since they botched my colonoscopy in Sept 2013. The emergency colonoscopy 10 days after the first one turned into an all night bleed out while sucking down 4 liters of Golytely to prep for an emergency fix. My BP dropped to 92/49 before I was clear enough to perform the emergency colonoscopy to fix the bleeder. The $4,000 screening colonoscopy turned into a follow up $12,000 "fix". All at my expense. Nice.

Joey Feek developed Cervical Cancer shortly after giving birth to a Down’s daughter Indiana Boone, went through surgery, treatment, a few months later 9 MM Sigmoid Colon Stage 4 cancer, more surgery, treatment, pronounced cured.
