The fictitious ones with big names from Hollywood make for good story but do not bring it home. They are fiction, so the audience can sit and be entertained without risk of having their life transformed.
“Jesus of Nazareth” is life transforming. And it has big name international actors, but they somehow left their egos at the door for this one. If it had been a Hollywood movie, it would have won all the Oscars, but it’s impossible to make it a movie. Thus, Zeffirelli made it a series because he had to, so that it could work its magic.
