Two New York voters are suing the stateâs Board of Elections to have Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz booted from the ballot over questions about his citizenship.
The issue has been trumpeted by Cruzâs foe, Donald Trump, though the pair who are suing say they are not aligned with the billionaire businessman.
âNotwithstanding the bluster of Mr. Trump ⦠my issue is there is a constitutional problem that has arisen, and it has to be addressed,â said Manhasset, LI, resident William Gallo, who filed the lawsuit with Manhattanite Barry Korman.
The pair cites an article of the US Constitution that says, âNo person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this constitution, shall be eligible to the office of president.â

Right or wrong, some state will eventually deny him ballot access, whether it's in the primaries or the General.

No, I don’t think so. It will be just like Obama. There is that uncertainty there.

Trump didn’t cause Cruz to be born in Canada.

New Yorkers sue to boot Ted Cruz from ballot because he was born in Canada Well if the courts are going to be consistent, those New Yorkers will be denied standing.

The courts are political, you know that.
And it's a STATE suit, not Federal.
As far as I know all of Obama's suits were either Federal, or after the fact of his election.
Cruz's opponents have 50 opportunities.

Trump merely pointed to the obvious. There is an issue here. If Cruz is the nominee the Dems WILL PURSUE THIS LIKE CRAZED JACKALS. Just a fact.

I actually want to see a declarative statement from the supreme court right now rather then after cruise wins the election because I feel it will be less controversial what ever the ruling. you can bet that Hillary will challenge him after the election if he is our nomine and she losses. the fact that there are only eight justices right now could be problematic if it gets to November and it goes to court then.

Well if the courts are going to be consistent, those New Yorkers will be denied standing. I have always been for denying NYC inclusion in the USA.

THIS is the secret decoder ring.
When Cruz talks about “standing,” what he really saying is: “I doubt I am constitutionally qualified to be running.”

I’m pretty sure a Constitutional expert will show up shortly to explain how Iranian born Valerie Jarrett is fully qualified to be President.
