There are at least two of us.

NO government employee should expect or accept "freebies" of any value because it always leads eventually to a conflict of interest or favoritism. Let the government employees live within their salary.

Well said... and exactly right...

Every federal civil servant / employee has ethic rules they must follow. Congress is exempt from those rules. So are many others. They are also supposed to handle classified documents properly but oh well again.

He dismissed his. We have no clue if this was his usual behavior.

Yes, the case is over. I read the judgement and I have to say I would agree with Scalia, but its still the appearance of impropriety. They shouldn’t be taking freebies from anybody let alone someone who had a case before you that you dismissed in their favor.

Who were the other 35 in this VIP party. Poindexter gave a free trip to all 35.

Whose watching the judges?

Poindexter is a close associate of BO. From a former police commissioner I have been the responding officer of many unattended deaths. A common event is for the coroner to order an autopsy for just about any reason. It makes absolutely no sense at all that the coroner would not order an autopsy on a sitting Justice of the United States Supreme Court.

What is worse Scalia was cremated, evidence is now gone.

Anyway, a lot of odd details....

The oddest of which no autopsy performed on a SCOTUS,

And no cause of death determined.

Our rulers are all exempt from the laws we must follow.

Yep. Doesn’t matter sometimes if it is a Dem or Republican. I was surprised that Justice Ginsberg was his closest confidante. Who knew?

As far as this appearance of impropriety, I would not have expected this from Scalia. Especially since he had done something similar with Dick Cheney in 2003 and was called out on it.

What if Kagan or Sotomeyer had taken a free trip paid for by someone who had business in front of the court? Would we give them a pass?

Poindexter is a big supporter of Obama. Who else was in this hunting party? How many other trips like this had he taken over the years?

They are always passing rules and regulations on the little guy. There should be rules on this type of behavior for Supreme Court Justices. They don’t need to be accepting free trips.

I didn’t know he was cremated. So they didn’t object to cremation, just an autopsy.

I get calls from phone solicitors and advertisements in the mail offering me “free trips” all the time. I always figure there is some type of catch.

Hey FRiend, we are awake, but as was pointed out above, this is a nation of men now, not laws. RIP

Hi, Squantos. Haven’t seen you around. Of course the place had maximum security besides the 30,000 acres. And utmost discretion. A getaway for bigwigs where anonymity is assured.

In NYC, if you die at home, the NYPD arrive en masse and next the coroner who must perform an autopsy...speaking about 1982 NYC.

We get letters offering us free cremations! That always creeps me out.

Wonder if Cheney was the friend with him on this trip.

I cannot believe that you are enough of a low life to attempt to besmirch a fine man and one of our very best Supreme Court judges on the day of his funeral.

What kind of person are you?

That Ginsberg was his closest confidante is not new. On the other hand, I live in the DC area and for years the Washington Post has published articles on their friendship. They even have been interviewed together, etc.

As for the rest of your comments, well, time will take care of that. Get the facts before you condemn.
