They need to control what the constitution entitles them to control. And that’s everything apart from certain very well defined Federal needs such as ports, armories, forts etc. And then those land sales have to be approved by the state legislatures.
As he has done in many instances and been given a pass from the Lamestream media and his koolaid to drinkers
.
Yes, those pesky hillbilly .05%
The Constitution is already destroyed, under FDR...Bush-Clinton-Bush-Obama.
The fear is that under Trump, the Constitution will not be restored. The longer this goes on, the closer the nation is to collapse.
The issues you cite are correct (add in the Federal Reserve). But when other issues arise, Trump seems to default to Federal solutions, without considering Subsidiarity or States’ Rights or limited government.
No sarc tag here: the bright side is he is someone who is, and will, break the Bush-Clinton-Obama dynasty.
-— “We have to be great stewards of this land. This is magnificent land. And we have to be great stewards of this land.” -—
Nothing says “great stewardship” like FedGov.
This should be added to Trump’s greatest hits collection.
By tomorrow he’ll say that he never said this, even if it’s on video, and that will be the end of the discussion.
“The man is in love with adjectives!!”
Especially superlative adjectives, often he uses them instead of giving factual information.
I have to disagree. I hear this argument often as an excuse to not vote for someone. We can use any reason we want but is it reasonable to expect a president to be totally up on every issue? Granted this has been in the news. And Trump probably should have had some guidance on this. On the list of things the country as a whole are worried about this issue is probably down the scale. We have a lot of things to get our house in order and people are focused on terrorism, immigration, supreme court, economy etc.
Germany elected Hitler back in the thirties.. Don’t dismiss the appeal of the strong man. A disease endemic of modern societies. I thought the US would be immune given the constitutional contraints but it looks like I am wrong.
Not someone who brags that the entire basis of his real estate operation was bribing politicians to get good deals. When you're a crony capitalist, you want to make sure the government is in control of parceling out all the corporate welfare so that you can outbid your less wealthy competitor.
Appreciate your honesty.
I’m in much the same boat.
Want to vote for the guy, likely will be our nominee and I WILL vote for him.
But he is completely ignorant of many conservative hot-button issues. That or he opposes us...but I prefer to believe the former.
Some say it’s because Cruz lost SC, that Cruz supporters are upset.
No, while I am a Cruz supporter, and I realize it’s only 3 states out of 50 that have been counted yet and the big picture is still yet to be revealed, I am upset because I love America and my eyes are wide open to where we are headed.
I see who Trump is. I recognize what he is not. I am not fooled by his theatrics. And just as I feared for the country under Obama (and still do), I fear for the continuation of big government, out of control, anti-constitutional policies and that America won’t survive any more.
People are putting way too much faith in one man to fix things. One man, who has a bad record when it comes to principles, convictions and consistency. Let alone, that it’s a bad idea to rely on one person to get things done, but one with a reputation such as Mr. Trump, is downright scary....to me.
We need someone who gets govt out of the way, shrinks it back, and puts the Constitution AND US back in charge. Not someone who just wants to be the Administrator of an already out of control, corrupt monolithic government.
Donald is the only candidate that sent one of his guys to checkout the situation with the ranchers in Burns, Oregon.
No other candidate took the time to even address the situation.
Here’s the link addressing his support for the ranchers:
http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/jerry-delemus-trump-bundy-oregon-standoff
Now look at the date of that link, it’s Jan 14, 2016. Now look at the date of the source of this thread, it’s Jan 23, 2016. What you see is Donald being interviewed about federal land policy because of sympathy for the ranchers. The question to him addressed giving land TO THE STATES, not to rancher associations or conservancies governed by rancher associations.
Now Donald knows that some state governments are populated with some sh*tty bureaucrats on the take. So his answer was perfect “Not going to give over land because I don’t know what they (the states) are going to do”. That’s the same as saying “I will consider giving over land if they offer a good proposition”. Not a damn thing wrong with what he said.
Now look at the calendar, and we see Nevada is just around the corner. So the Trump trolls are once again out to create sh*t on Trump.
Now change the name from Trump to Cruz and you will see the same sh*theads dumping on Cruz. As a Cruz supporter I saw Ted get dumped on incessantly last summer.
It should be obvious to you now what’s going on.
Well how did the Fed get the land in question to begin with?
He made this pronouncement around two months ago and still hasn’t.
I disagree with Trump on this. I live in a state that continually closes areas up here to us. The feds own 61% of the land here.
We have a Rep controlled Congress that has given Obama everything he wanted including the Omnibus bill that funded him until the end of this term and removed the sequestration caps so we can increase deficit more. The Reps claim to be conservative and made all kinds of promises to get elected yet they betray us with no seeming accountability. You seem to want to hold Trump to a higher standard than the bastards who have actually created these problems.
How did the fed get that land?
