Ernie got beat early on by a state that is 2/3 gems and has two unions (teachers and state workers) that absolutely pummeled him and the propositions that were put up.

Unfortunately after that he let Maria and his domestic (at home) issues take over

I voted for McClintock also. He is the only one of the candidates that sounded sane.
Arnold came off as an amiable fellow, though.
Interesting theory about the blackmail. He certainly did pivot hard to the left after the Proposition votes.

I voted for Arnold both times...I liked McClintock too...But, I ended up taking a chance with Arnold...

It is a sad fact that McClintock has never won a statewide office in CA...I guess too many voters thought that he was too conservative...

I remember that many members of FR were very skeptical of Arnold back then...Could you trust Trump while you did not trust Arnold? I guess Trump has some special quality which some people find very endearing...

Overall, I was disappointed with Arnold...

Times have changed considerably...

Trump back then was noticeably liberal...his positions hadn’t yet “evolved” to where moderate and hard core conservatives would consider him a viable candidate.

Now? Well, the republican party has demonstrated that when given the keys to government, they’re more than willing to dismiss the will of the people. They were voted in to control Congress and that puke 0bama and have spit in our faces. Trump is the anti-establishment candidate and it’s probably long past time for one to take the reins and slow the slide.

Is Trump the “right” man for the job? Maybe...time will tell. It’s like going to Vegas and putting down all of your life’s earnings on black at the roulette table...

I am firmly of the belief that government needs an enema of epic proportions...I’m tired of the persistent and constant slide towards socialism being helped along by republicans.

Hillary is NOT an option...it concerns me in a head to head presidential race that bitch just might win.
