Obamacare 1095A Wrong Again Two Years In a Row

Posted on 02/23/2016 10:05:28 AM PST by MrMarbles

For two years in a row, my 1095A, which is the tax reporting sheet for Obamacare, is totally screwed up and I can't do my taxes. I want to know how many others have been affected by this same problem. I called the ACA customer service and they always make promises that they will fix the problem, but they never do. If you have dropped people off your Obamacare during the year, this is when everything gets screwed up. They can't handle changes with that two billion POS program.

Unfortuneately, MY 1095A is correct.

I made too much money in 2015 by working hard, getting a raise and a big bonus.

Now I and my wife do not qualify for the APTC which was paid to BCBS for $1002 for 12 months.

I did my taxes and ‘discovered’ this now mean that I MUST REPAY TO THE GD GOVERNMENT $12,024.00 PLUS ANY TAXES AND INTEREST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!>..................................

Why the taxes and interest if you didn’t know that your income would rise?

(Dumb question,I guess,but I just don’t get it.)

in other words those “affordable care” subsidies are government loans? and have to be paid back with interest in any year your income nudges up even just a little?

How are our young adult children and young people just starting out ever going to make it?

I think if you are over age 55 your “subsidies” must be repaid with a lien on your estate by the govt after you die?

I signed up for insurance in November of 2014 thru the Healthcare.Gov website with the Blue Cross rep.

You have to tell them your base salary, then they will tell you what amount of subsidy you are eligible for.

During 2015 I worked a lot of overtime, evenings, Saturdays and sometimes even Sundays.

At the end of the year, my employer gave me a big bonus on top of all my earnings.

Those two things were enough to put me out of the range of qualifying for the government subsidy, tax credit or co-premium whatever you wish to call it. It amounted to over $12,000 for the full year and now I have to pay it ALL BACK!

I don’t have $12,000 to give them..............................

I would have been better off NOT HAVING ANY HEALTH INSURANCE AT ALL.

The ‘fine’ or ‘Tax, or ‘Fair Share’ as they call it on the Tax Forms, (what a joke!), would only have been around $2000 or so.

This situation is intolerable!

My wife is reduced to crying and fears we may lose our home!

I cannot stand this bastard!........................

The name ‘Affordable Care Act’ is the biggest joke of all!

Before this sorry law was ‘DEEMED TO HAVE PASSED’ by Pelosi, Reid and all those sorry ass Democrats, (remember there wasn’t a single Republican vote for it), my employer gave me and my family insurance that was absolutely free and no cost to me. It was good insurance that paid for prescriptions and office visits.

Now, last years policy was bad in that I had a huge deductible and paid no prescriptions and only part of the office visits.

But this year’s policy is even worse! The premiums have doubled, the deductible is even bigger and they don’t co-pay for any office visits.

I’m at my wits end...............................

Man that sucks. We got hit years ago with my wife’s buyout with B/P. We made a mistake and owed a huge chunk of money. We managed to borrow and squirm some but we still owed a lot. Took over 3 years to pay the bastards back.
I told her if we get hit again I might tell them to put me in jail. Clog up the jails. Although they probably will just seize my house.

Takes your money - and delivers nothing.

It's fraud - since our "representatives" will not do squat to address it perhaps a class-action RICO suit is worth a try.

You described my exact situation. I followed everything perfectly and then got screwed every time. I have never seen anything so pathetic in my entire life. Obama’s legacy is pure dog shit because of this insane legislation.

If Obama was hurt or injured or anything I would not lose a moment’s sleep because of the harm he has caused working people. This retroactive penalty, over which you had no control,is outrageous.

As the mother of a police officer I despise the guy.

I’m so sorry for your trouble.

The “Fair Share” is to pay for the insurance of some slacker that never worked a day in his life.

What a mess.

Because it’s the government! You know, “Ignorance...is no excuse” (except if you are in the government).

Welcome to the Fundamental Transformation of Amerika. Not that this wouldn’t have happened before, but then they wouldn’t have made laws that forced you into this type of situation. Funny how we never once were treated to a definition of this fraud’s plans , agenda or desired outcome of his Fundamental Transformation, nor have we heard that phrase from the complicit media since 2004.

I think if you are over age 55 your subsidies must be repaid with a lien on your estate by the govt after you die?

I think you have that confused with Medicaid estate recovery for people over 55. If people take advanced tax subsidies and have adjusted gross income over 400% of the federal poverty level, they have to pay back all the subsidies they received that tax year. People receiving subsidies are suppose to report any change of income so subsidies can be adjusted or terminated early. However, that doesn't help for unexpected year end bonuses or other unexpected financial taxable events at years end. If the windfall is small enough, they might be able stay under 400% FPL by making contributions to an IRA, etc..
