Just a few hours after LifeNews posted a story about Landsâ End honoring pro-abortion feminist Gloria Steinem and collecting donations for her organization, a flood of criticism from pro-lifers prompted the clothing company to removed all references to Steinem from its website.
Earlier this month, Landsâ End published an interview and photo-shoot with Steinem on its website (see images below) and in its spring catalog, highlighting Steinemâs work to pass an Equal Rights Amendment (ERA), which could expand abortion in the U.S. Steinem is a well-known abortion activist who once said women âneedâ abortion.

Land’s End ............God I hope so.
*sigh*
And Land’s End stuff is great quality.
Now I’ll have to find somewhere else to shop.

This will probably do it for them. Once a very successful business, then acquired and absolutely mismanaged by Sears, now independent/stand alone, but performing poorly. Say bye!

LL Bean?
Pendleton?
Woolrich?
Land’s End also has customer CHAT, btw.
It pops up if you spend 1.5 min or so on their feedback page.
Lands end has good quality products and if you buy them on sale the prices are reasonable.
I have no idea why they would give money to Gloria Steinem.
Really, what is it with these delusional CEOs who only desire to appeal to 47% of American society?
LL Bean is OK but a LOT of their stuff is made in China.
Plus, some of their products do not have the durability of Land’s End.
I’ll have to look into Pendleton and Woolrich.
Mr mm said that when we first heard the news that Sears bought them and shortly thereafter we did notice a definite deterioration of the quality of a number of our favorite products.
Thanks.
Another company that products great cotton products is Hanna Anderson but I do not know about their policies.
My husband has traded in his Land’s End for Duluth Trading Co.
Pendleton is all imports now too. It’s like rolling dice, some okay, some not worth the money.
I have a sweater and a jacket bought from Pendleton roughly 25 years ago. Awesome wool, classic style, and made in the U.S.A. They are as good as new.

Land’s End also sells a lot of its merchandize in JC Penney stores .... just saying.
Good. This means a) they are no longer proud of it, and b) they know that their customers would shun them if they knew.
Lands End was privately held for most of its existance, then sold to Sears. Sears spun it off as it’s own public company last year, so now they’re free to do things like that - sell thru Penneys, and to give money to abortion activists...evidently.
But now they will live or die by their stock price, so there is actually some accountability for doing dumb stuff:
