These days the Supreme Court has more power than the executive branch in many ways. I would trust Cruz to be a constitutionalist, but don’t know why the people on Free Republic who have adopted Trump’s hate for the man, would think he would even consider him for the court. Personally I see him choosing Opera.

I picture Trump more as a pop rock kind of guy. Opera is a bit too slow to develop and intricate for his tastes I think.

As for me, personally, it’s more kind of suspicious fear.
When you compare Cruz X Obama and find that both claim to be Constitutional scholars. Both have questionable birth circumstances, Neither will put up the paperwork to clear the muddle. Both are lacking real-world experience as workers or doing payrolls with all the attendant hassle.
Both have/had wives who, in furthering the interest of attaining residence in the White House, attained very-well paying jobs to that end.

Yeah, I’m dubious that Cruz is the one for the job but I don’t HATE him.
