In all, 595 Republican delegates- about 25 percent of the total number- are available on Super Tuesday.

Republicans need 1,237 delegates to win the party's nomination;

I much better indicator than just 4 states.

[full disclosure - Cruz supporter]

I predict Trump will get about 230 delegates on Super Tuesday. Cruz about 180 and Rubio with about 80 due to the proportional nature of Super Tuesday.

If Cruz does well in Texas, that could shift to split of close to 200 each for Trump and Cruz. I really don’t see where Rubio can gain above 80. This outcome would put the race much closer to even than the current numbers would indicate.

My overall prediction is that Trump will go into the convention with about 1,300 delegates. Enough for the nomination.
