Everybody does it,â is an excuse expected from a mischievous child, not a presidential candidate. But that is Hillary Clintonâs latest defense for making closed-door, richly-paid speeches to big banks, which many middle-class Americans still blame for their economic pain, and then refusing to release the transcripts.
A televised town hall on Tuesday was at least the fourth candidate forum in which Mrs. Clinton was asked about those speeches. Again, she gave a terrible answer, saying that she would release the transcripts âif everybody does it, and that includes the Republicans.â
In November, she implied that her paid talks for the Wall Street firms were part of helping them rebuild after the 9/11 attacks, which âwas good for the economy and it was a way to rebuke the terrorists.â
In a debate with Bernie Sanders on Feb. 4, Mrs. Clinton was asked if she would release the transcripts, and she said she would âlook into it.â Later in February, asked in a CNN town hall forum why she accepted $675,000 for speeches to Goldman Sachs, she got annoyed, shrugged, and said, âThatâs what they offered,â adding that âevery secretary of state that I know has done that.â
At another town hall, on Feb. 18, a man in the audience pleaded, âPlease, just release those transcripts so that we know exactly where you stand.â Mrs. Clinton had told him, âI am happy to release anything I have when everybody else does the same, because every other candidate in this race has given speeches to private groups.â
On Tuesday, Mrs. Clinton further complained, âWhy is there one standard for me, and not for everybody else?â

She needs time to fabricate some ...
Hillary Clinton seen here at her Goldman Sachs luncheon speech last year.
Yes, Hillary. We all want to know, “Why is there one standard for (you), and not for everybody else?”
Uh, for what? If someone wants to read rambling talks that are so full of nothing words that it’s probably gonna make you dizzy, go ahead. The only thing I want to hear from her is “Yes your honor, I plead guilty.”
Hillary will not release the transcripts. It’s not in her nature to do so. And I hope she does. Wait till Trump beats her over the head with those. You think Trump will let her off the hook just because she shrugged and said “Oh well?” He’ll attack her and mock her, and be relentless and not back down. She will not react well.
I may have to tune in to watch that.
I think the transcripts will make crystal clear that the speeches were a money-laundering scheme to enable Goldman Sachs to funnel large amounts of money to the Clinton Crime Foundation.
Notice how Hillary never looks like she’s actually just doing something? The Black woman is dancing, that’s it. But look at Hillary’s face - she’s checking out whether she’s coming across as appropriately dancing with appropriate enthusiasm for the impression she wants to give in that situation.
You can actually watch her fake being human. She does it constantly.
If the Appleheads have their way, in the future someone like HRC could just hand out encrypted cells to all her cronies. Then even if they got caught doing this kind of crap, even with a warrant, we wouldn’t be able to touch them. “Sorry, it’s encrypted! Blow that 4th amendment crap out your butt!”
Even if she doesn’t get found guilty, remember she has yet to get the relentless pounding this will bring her in a general election, and disrupt her highness’s path. Sic Semper Clintonus.
Trump should tell the electorate that he has a copy of Hillary Goldman Sachs transcripts and that they are damning to her campaign and he is saving them to release during their GE matchup. This will drive the Bernie Sanders supporters over the cliff....
Yep. She can’t even laugh legitimately. Always that fake, forced cackle.
This is from the NYT’s? Wow.
Missus Clinton, tear down that wall!
Well, she just spoke about some recipes and her daughter’s wedding plans. Nothing important, and that is why she destroyed the transcripts.
I caught part of the phoned in interview Clinton did with MSNBC. She said that the gop turnout in NV was about 75,000 which is true. Then she dismissed that number, and claimed that the democrat turnout was 80,000, which is a lie, it was 12,000. There goes her always trying to be truthful.
As for the transcripts, most speakers don’t want their transcripts released for the simple fact that they pretty much say the exact same thing every time, with just a few minor adjustments. That’s why paid speakers ban recording equipment, and even try to prevent people from recording it on their phones, and even object to pictures being taken.
But, in Clinton’s case, I suspect she heaped a lot of praise on Golden Sacks (yes, I know it’s Goldman Sachs).
Hey, let’s ask Ted Cruze and see if his wife can get a copy.
