I figure the “bombshell” Romney’s been pushing is that Trump’s tax rate is low. The low rate would probably be due to loss carryforwards.

Romney didn't say he had a bombshell, in fact he only speculates that perhaps Trump doesn't donate a lot, or pays a low effective rate, doesn't make as much as he says he makes, or some other thing.
But, I'm sure Trump's effective tax rate is lower than the rate for someone who doesn't itemize or have businesses and complicated stuff. That's the tax code.
I do recall Trump saying that he’d be willing to pay more in taxes - his fair share. There are a lot of loopholes for the multi rich.
Trump’s into real estate, I’d be surprised if he paid anything.
