As president and later Reagan did some really liberal things.

1986-granted amnesty to 3-million illegal aliens and still didn’t secure the border.

1991-came out in support of the Brady gun control bill, prior to its passage.

1992-joined Clinton, Carter, Ford, Nixon and Bush in support of NAFTA, prior to its passage.

After those actions, even Reagan was no Ronald Reagan.

So, there is no perfect conservative. They all make compromises.

All those things are true. He got the GOP-e as advisers. Still He was not the scum Trump is. He had great instincts for the most part and was a conservative at heart. Thats the part I say you Trump people are giving up by bypassing Ted Cruz who does not back down.

How about your own research instead of letting someone else decide. Read up on the Trump pre candidate and if that does not change your mind you never will. He was not invented last year. He has been a “New York Progressive Liberal” all his life. Just through in an ego the size of Obamas and lots of cash and you have an evil evil man.

I too, was a supporter of Ronald Reagan. True, Trump does not have the eloquence of the Great Communicator. That great ability was crafted from years of work and great talent. I miss his Saturday radio addresses. I miss him greatly. But I think Trump has Reagan’s thinking at heart. In fact, I was looking at words by Ross Parot and saw the same concerns that Reagan spoke about some 40 years ago. There is a line of thinking that many in our nation have voiced concern. Trump is one of many who have voiced that concern. A core of their concern is anti-Communism and Capitalism vs Capitalism. The Democrats are Communist anti-Capitalists. Barack Obama and the Clintons are part of the Communist camp. And, I saw Bill Clinton in Oslo, Norway in 1969 among Communist organizers who held an anti-Nato/anti-Vietnam War rally in Oslo.

I used to think that anyone who ran a business and had to make a payroll was automatically a conservative. Today, I am not so sure when I see some of the big rich flocking to fund raisers for far Left politicians. Obama has sure hit my neck of the woods for the well-heeled checks. I see Trump as one of that crowd, the “cocktail parties of power” as Sarah Palin calls them. However, I think Sarah has got into Trump’s mind and has made a born again conversion. They are good friends and I trust her to know that Trump is worthy of her consideration. I think Trump has woke up and realized what a fool he was all those years watching those millions go out the window to those politicians. Sarah must have burned his ears about the corruption of crony capitalism. And, I am sure he has got his mind straight about a lot of other issues that his association with the “cocktail parties of power” had his mind in toxic shape.

We must look for the authenticity of Donald Trump’s purpose. Is he a Trojan Horse or is he authentic? With that, you have to watch his sons and his wife. They are all on the same page. They are very sincere and I can tell their bell rings true, like when I first heard Ronald Reagan those many years ago on television.

When Ronald gave that commercial and showed how good Boraxo soap could wash the most soiled hands, I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. Well, I think Trump is that soap. He is the Boraxo that will clean up “the cocktail parties of power across the river.”

I have no words left for someone like you that can think there is Any redeeming value to a complete scum like Trump. Good luck with that. We lose to the progressive left radicals either way. Trump Hillary. You sir have been duped somehow. I am sure thats the way the Obama people thought as well. Now all they can do is rationalize. That will be america doing that whether its its Hillary or Trump.

Thank you for your civil comments. My wife says the same thing about Trump—a divided house. Tuesday, I may have egg on my face. These are exciting times.

“Ted Cruz, who used to appear strong, in unraveling and revealing his paranoid, nasty, dishonest character. Something is terribly wrong with Cruz. He was not like that in the beginning. Is his true self exploding? Or is he the Trojan horse?”

I have noticed Rubio is as well...perhaps they are trying to set up a contested convention. They probably view it as their only real chance. And the elites are rumored to have another candidate thrown in should that happen as well...meanwhile, Trump just marches on...garnering huge crowds!

When I posted I wasn't aware that Donald Trump had actually been on WWF. After you mentioned it I sort of remembered him on some wrestling show years back. So you were right about that, but it wasn't my point. I was using WWF and MMA metaphorically to say that Hillary's a tough challenge as a political fighter.

She's desperate, determined, and committed, and she does her homework. Donald hasn't done much so far. Plus, there won't be audience participation in the Fall debates, and that will hurt Trump. Without all the applause, it won't be the same for him.

Also, Hillary can play that "grew up poor" card. It won't convince you, or me, or any of the people she's already written off, but it convinces the people she wants to win over. Nominate a billionaire and it's hard to counter that tactic.

And when you have this woman barking, and howling, and guffawing, bellowing until she's hoarse and then coughing up a storm it's harder to pin the elite or Establishment label on her. I know she's rich and well-connected nowadays, but a billionaire real estate mogul is going to have trouble playing the populist card.

If you're not convinced, fine. Her act doesn't convince me either. But if she holds most Obama voters and picks up defectors from our side, she will win.

I saw this. I lost pretty much any residual respect I had for Cruz.

I now see why those in the Senate think he’s such a jerk.

I support Trump and it was Cruz who was the jerk in that interview.
