What is sadder, is that posters aren't thoughtful enough to provide enough info (doesn't have to be that much) to know whom we are talking about. Did she have a Freeper name? Does her husband?

Joey Feek is the female half of the country duo Joey & Rory.
We live near their farm; but, of course, didn’t travel in
the same circles they did. We aren’t musical. - Joey is a
nice person. I had a soap-making class with her a few years
ago. - She is 40 yrs. old. - Life does not always go as
wished or planned & is at times lonely. - I’m thankful for
life & all the blessings the Lord sends my way. - Husband
& I had a Down Syndrome baby many years ago who died at
six weeks of age. - I suspect that in the coming age, those
who have been last in this life will be first in that age -
unwanted aborted babies, the poor, the lame, the halt, the
blind, the “retarded”, the wretched, the “unfashionable” . .
It is cloudy & dreary today out here, Marcy Jo’s is closed
today, can’t help but feel depressed . .

Most articles are saying Cervical Cancer, that is the cancer that started this 2 year battle, surgery, chemo, radiation, pronounced cured. SAME strain turns into a 9 MM Sigmoid Colon Cancer Stage 4, surgery, chemo, before they did the radiation they did a CT and found more tumors, and told the Feeks’ that there was no more they could do medically, it was now in God’s hands. Despite the hundreds of thousands of prayers for this beautiful Christian singer who puts God and family first God’s answer to our prayers is NOT what we wanted to hear. BUT it is HIS will and His answer.

Joey and Rory had accepted that fact when they learned of the THIRD bout, second bout of Stage 4 Colon Cancer.

Joey’s last wishes were to see her daughter Indiana Boone turn 2 and the release of their last Gospel album, these are the old fashion gospel hymns. It is beautiful, I cried listening to it. Pre ordered it from Amazon.

My wife has been asleep for days now and her body is shutting down quickly. The hospice nurse came again this morning and said Joey will most-likely only be with us for a few more days… at the most.

And now, here I sit beside my dying wife.

I don’t say those words lightly. As a matter-of-fact, I haven’t said them at all. But my beautiful bride has said them to me in these couple of days. Her pain and discomfort has continued to increase daily and so has the morphine to help her be comfortable. The dosage she’s needed to keep the pain away has quadrupled in the last four days.

I’d like to tell you that she’s doing great and is going to beat this thing. But I can’t.

Yesterday with tears in her eyes and mine, Joey held my hand and told me that she has been having serious talks with Jesus. She said she told him that if He’s ready to take her… she’s ready to come home.

Our ‘make-believe’ song and video seems to be coming true.

Some call it ‘life imitating art’. I don’t.

I call it God.

He knew I would need her to tell me goodbye… not just once, but a thousand times. And I’d need to know that no matter how much time passes, that she loves me still. Because she has been such an inspiration to Christians during her career and in her 3 cancer battles, she became family to those who fell in love with the duo. If you love old fashion Gospel that has meaning get a copy of this last album she will make. You will be blessed by the songs.

The show that started them off was Can You Duet.

They have been on the Gaither’s, Larry Black’s Country Dinner, and Country’s Family Reunion with Bill Anderson.

There life has been a public one as has been their Christian faith.

Rory started the blog to tell the story of their music journey, and it became so much more when Joey had Indiana, then the cancer journey. How they handled it is an inspiration to all Christian.

We had the privilege to go see a concert, and all were treated graciously. Before that we visited Marcy Jo’s Meal House and Joey was refilling coffee cups, and Rory brought Indiana in she was about 8 months old. We got to talk to him for some time as he and my current husband were Military men and even served on the same base, but at different times.

I lost both of my parents to Lung Cancer, my husband of 23 years to a massive sudden heart attack and our 16 year old son to a sociopathic killer who wanted to see what it felt like to kill and ambushed him a block from home coming from school. I still cry to this day certain times of the year.
