The #nevertrump crowd is largely made up of foaming and frothing at the mouth neo-cons. They hate Trump because he doesn’t have to come crawling to them for money, they hate him because he doesn’t hire them to be his “advisors”, or “strategists.” Trump opposes open border where the neo-cons want to swamp the country with the 3rd World invasion. Trump supports the 2nd Amendment, the neo-cons support gun control. Trump is pro-life and the neo-cons are pro-abortion. The neo-cons think that if Trump doesn’t need them now, he might not pay attention to them when they start their inevitable howling for yet another war in Middle East and he won’t be so eager to send American men and women to die.

Not that simple at all. He has convinced about 30% of voting gop that he is what he says he is despite his constant changing even now. I am amazed at the known people saying never trump though. A lot of us see an intemperate braggart and bully with little knowledge except how to sell himself, with no core principles, NY values and suspicion of his many friends on the left. It is a matter of conscious.
