But the fact is, it first reached $4 under Bush. In my area, until this year, we spiked to $4 in the spring and early summer and fall back to the lower $3 or upper $2 in the winter. It doesn’t stay at $4 but 3 or 4 weeks a year. I know some areas, like California where the prices are closer to that year round.

My comments are too long for that page, but they are basically in agreement. Here they are:

Is there a "Lemon Law" for political contributions??? I made the mistake of making a first time $2K donation to Romney because it was "the do or die election"..., never make such a mistake again!!! If the GOPe continues to screw around with their base' selection (because they "aren't acceptable", I'll finish my days as an independent (after 50 years in the GOP!!!

I'm troubled that the only time I've ever seen Romney put passion into a fight is when it's against the front-runner in our party.

I will never - and most of us agree - never will we vote for a GOPe candidate again. No more ‘holding our noses’ and voting... no, we will fight them, just like Romney's done.

"Not only has the GOPe done nothing, they have gone along with Obama almost as if some agreement exists between them."

That's the deal.

Obama gets everything he wants and the Republicans get TPP.

Count on it. It will pass this election year, maybe in the Lame Duck Congress after the election.

"This may be the first time in the history of the country that a political party has opposed the front runner presidential candidate."

Nope.

Is there any doubt left that the Republican Party and its media lackeys have been stage managed by forces and factions that spit upon the founding principles of this nation. Oligarchs - America’s aristocracy, American’s monarchy, unmerited power derived from birthright- not ability or intelligence or ethical standards. A state of mind governed by the accumulation of wealth and control of human destinies with allegiance to no nation, no people, no history, no tradition other than the exercise of dominion over the minds of otherwise free and unfettered beings. Now it is their time to watch America rise up in defiance standing shoulder to shoulder against the very evils that our Founding Fathers warned us against in word and deed. Sons of Liberty, grab your manhood and advance upon the forces of Ultimate Stupidity.

I agree with the caller.

It is precisely the anger generated by the GOPe, and the profound sense of betrayal after both 2010 and 2014 that is fueling people’s fury.

I am a Cruz supporter, but completely understand and empathize the anger that is fueling Trump’s popularity.

As a Florida resident, I was active in the Tea Party, and enthusiastically supported Rubio, Scott Brown, and several other “Tea Party” candidates, only to see them stab their conservative base in the back.

I will NEVER vote for Rubio again as long as I live.

This is why I do not participate in the mud-throwing here on FR between Trump and Cruz supporters.

The best case scenario would be a team, but, because of the acrimony on both sides, it does not look like it is going to happen. (sigh)

I saw this and went independent years ago. Now I am considering
changing back to Republican. But here in Oregon we vote in MAY. heh, The nominee has already been picked by then.

Sooo depending on what happens in the next month will determine my decision. IF the GOPe plays games and puts someone of their own choice, someone other then Trump or Cruz
I will stay an independent and decide what to do then.

Quite different in fact. Cruz is not the total @hole that Rubio is. But Trump is still my man, by a large margin.

I think even Trump will show him respect, after he beats him. Because that is the kind of man I see in Trump.

Cruz has fought some important battles for conservatism and America. For that I will still hold him in high regard. I will not throw him out with the bath water when this is all over, because they are both just doing what they think will secure them the nomination.

I think Ted would make a great Supreme Court Justice where he can, in reality, do more good than he could as President. Politics are one thing, but I still think Ted can be a positive force for America.

When this is all over hopefully you will let bygones be bygones as well.

I bet if Ted Cruz was in reach of the nomination, Mitt Romney would be leading the charge to file suit saying he’s not an American.

You know it-- Cruz would get pummeled merciless and although he can take some of it I think Trump is way better equipped for handling the barrage. Thats a big reason I'm a Trump supporter. Besides other than Cruz who else do we have?

We won't know that because it won't happen. Not this year anyway. But I doubt he'd bother. Romney may not like Ted Cruz, but he fears Trump, and fear is a much greater motivator.

Cruz hasn't established his eligibility. The elite can pull the plug on him whenever they want by bringing it to a judge they've bought and paid for, or blackmailed.

A vote for Cruz, or Rubio, is a vote for the elite to hand-pick a candidate. If that happens and they prevail, they'll be out of control and have even more surprises for their former voting fodder.

Romney was scared to death of Obama. He should have won in a landslide. At least Trump calls out the liars when he sees them. He will have a field day with Hillary. Nothing she has on him will compare to her dirt, including dead bodies.
