Figures. Glorify abhorrent sexual behavior and this is what you get.

At this point, public school is not an option for someone who cares about their children, at best they’ll get indoctrinated, at worst.....

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

When I was that age I would not have had a clue about oral sex or that anyone would want to suck on body parts. Where in the Sam hill did those boys 8 years old learn about oral sex????

Probably at home.

But clearly some are learning about it in or on their way to school.

Unfortunately it is not healthy to put your kids in a bubble.

What bubble?

It's clearly not healthy to put them in public schools.

I’m one of those you denigrate w/out knowing the first thing about me. I did some fun activities w/ my little special needs kids today. We made Cat in the Hat hats, had guest readers, had a little party w/ sweet treats & popcorn & watched a Dr. SEUSS show at the end of the day.

I’m a real degenerate in your eyes. The worst is taking a horrible incident & using it to trash hard working people.

School buses without supervision = Lord of the Flies
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

17,000 injuries requiring emergency room admission. Think about all the physician and dentist treatment that is never reported.

I have been saying for years that it has NEVER been studied whether the child is safer in the parents car, in a seat belt, to and from school, as compared to the school bus.

And...”... 17,000 U.S. children to emergency rooms each year, more than double the number in previous estimates that only included crashes.
Nearly one-fourth of the accidents occur when children are boarding or leaving school buses, while crashes account for 42 percent, the new research shows.”

You may have a special case, but for the VAST MAJORITY of FReepers and other conservative parents, the choice is ALMOST ALWAYS between the wants of the parents versus what is needed for the kids to have a HEALTHY upbringing. It is THOSE PARENTS that need to consider the needs of their kids...even if it means living in a smaller house, or GOD FORBID, an apartment.

Have you guys heard of the internet?

An unsupervised kid with a laptop or a smartfone can see more in a week that we will experience in our lives.

They feel they have no alternative because of the costs of private education.

In taxpayer funded public schools, of course. Supplemental learning materials provided by their babysitter, the internet.

Ok...It is definitely the father's fault!

The father's role is to protect his family. Rational and caring dads never let their child ride a government school bus.

“They feel they have no alternative because of the costs of private education.”

I’m actually not too hot on private education either...as my experience is that they tend to follow public schools way too close (kind of like Romney being liberal, but not quite as liberal as Obama).

There are OTHER OPTIONS for people...if they’re willing to eat out a bit less.

‘God forbid, boy, but if they ever get that in your mouth, bite like hell.’ They will have a real hard time explaining the wounds, and likely will be too hurt to whup on you..

Why the grands are back in public schools. I had a talk with the principal of their former parochial school and heard way too much statist nonsense for that context.

Neither of my children have ever been on a public school bus.

Nor have they gone to one...

And they are perfectly healthy...physically and mentally....
