I am going on an old memory. Wasn’t there a Black member of the Thunderbirds who had the gumption to take himself out of the group? He did not think his flying skills were up to the job?

We’ll put the basketball players in the jets and the pilots on the court and if the pilots can’t play, disappear them. If the players can’t fly, that’s due to white privilege, promote them.

Brig. Gen. Christopher M. Short should just pick some gay Negro women and order ‘em into the cockpit of half the birds, then order a full blown show over the downtown of a major American liberal city, and sit back in the grandstand to rake in the congratulations.

That episode involved the Blues - a naval aviator who happened to be black was slotted as CO and, greatly to his credit, took himself out of the position due to his own view that his flying skills were not up to his duties. It was a good call and, IIRCC, carried out in a mature and professional manner in the best traditions of the naval services.
I hope the general needs an ambulance post haste someday, but the ambulance company is run like the DMV, with all the diversity and indolence we expect from the DMV.
He can die satisfied and content in the knowledge that the incompetent dullards that let him die “didn’t look like (him)”.
Not guilty anyway.
