good grief... Dubai is a major hub for travel. Ignorance is astounding...
"DUBAI // Two men and two women died when their rented, two-seat Ferrari 458 Spider hit a pavement, crashed into a lamppost and split in two in the early hours of Sunday.
How do four adults fit into a two seater?
I read about the tragic death of the Boston Marathon victim and her friend yesterday. Mirroring other's reactions to the tragedy, I couldn't help wonder what the devil was this young lady doing in Dubai after having survived the Boston Marathon bombing? I couldn't help but wonder if there even was a car accident...given the nature of that culture. Now that I read the above quote about the two seat vehicle involving 4 passenger deaths...hmmmmm?
Young people these days seem a lot more adventurous than I
was back in my day. Our son (still young to me at 50) likes
to keep me nervous about his various trips abroad for
adventures. Several years ago, he went to Egypt sightseeing
& took a tour on horseback to the pyramids. The “guide” who
took him told him that he was a “terrorist” & that he
*could* kill him & bury him in the sands & he would never be
found. :o( Son was able to discuss the guy’s religion with
him as son was majoring in religion at Oxford, England at
the time. I stay at home & mind my business these days,
although we have travelled quite a bit in the past.
Actually, I just wanted to meet new people (girls) and smoke dope in/with different cultures ... it was the best education I could have asked for .... at the time
It was common for Jews to go live in a Kibbutz and young radicals to visit Cuba and the acid heads to go to India, NepaL and Katmandu
gee, anywhere in Asia... perhaps you should look at a globe sometimes... maybe read a little.
I live in Pennsylvania, my wife is from the Philippines and we layover in Japan .... next.
By some counts, Dubai is the world’s busiest international passenger travel hub. Air hub locations don’t necessarily make sense without more specific information. And Great Circle airline routes don’t look intuitive on map projections we’re used to.
Congratulations, you deserve a prize!!
been through there MANY times on my way to India, Sing, etc..
It's gotten much worse on FR in the last few months, and the ignorance has become much more arrogant.
Having traveled pretty much everywhere its amazing what people believe. there are elements of truth to a lot of things, but that doesn’t make everything that way!!
Nothing suspicious ... just curious.
Struck the curb.
Dubai holds out the tiniest sliver of hope that Arabs could, one day, potentially, be westernized.
Well, Vice President Biden is still in Dubai as far as I know. Maybe he will give us some facts. Seriously, I can’t add to what was in the articles. I am definitely not part of the party crowd here. Too old. :)
the article said on vacation on her way to Bali... Dubai is playground of the rich, sounds like they stopped off to have some fun.
Dude obviously was not prepared for that kind of horsepower in a car, just because the car can do it, doesnt mean you can handle it.
Incorrect. Dubai has not yet invented the aeroplane.
ayup.
(The Speaker is Death)
There was a merchant in Bagdad who sent his servant to market to buy provisions. In a little while the servant came back, white and trembling, and said, "Master, just now when I was in the marketplace I was jostled by a woman in the crowd and when I turned I saw it was Death that jostled me. She looked at me and made a threatening gesture, now, lend me your horse, and I will ride away from this city and avoid my fate. I will go to Samarra and there Death will not find me." The merchant lent him his horse, and the servant mounted it, and he dug his spurs in its flanks and as fast as the horse could gallop he went.
The merchant then went down to the marketplace and he saw me standing in the crowd and he came to me and said, "Why did you make a threatening gesture to my servant when you saw him this morning?" "That was not a threatening gesture," I said, "it was only a start of surprise. I was astonished to see him in Baghdad, for I had an appointment with him tonight in Samarra."

Two people in the seats, two people sitting on the rear deck with their legs behind the seats. Looks good in the movies, not very smart at 85mph.
