I bet if we searched his writings, this would be the FIRST TIME Prager has ever talked about the decline of Western civilization! It’s such an under used theme.
Yet you would think he might see an unapologetic arse-kicker coming to save the day as a good thing. Instead we get this resignation:
“Meanwhile, the Republican race is led by a man who has mocks a POW as a loser; who repeats the libel that George W. Bush knew there were no WMD in Iraq; who calls for the killing of terrorists’ families; and, who, as noted, proudly talks to America about the size of his sexual organ.”
Endless kvetching!
Don't see why it should have been .... it's been sitting right there on the bookshelf for over 97 years, ever since Oswald Spengler wrote Decline of the West. Nobody's ever falsified Spengler's thesis, and America is part of the West.
(Some people associate Spengler with Nazism, but he broke with them in 1933 over his pessimism about the future of the West and his refusal to endorse Nazi racial theories. He died between the wars, having predicted the demise of the Reich.)
