Ted Cruz says he would have no problem with a contested convention over the summer in the event neither he nor Donald Trump secures enough delegates before then to lock up the Republican presidential nomination.

In other words, if neither he nor Trump win outright, he is okay with having it play out in accordance with the longstanding rules. So am I.

I'd prefer it, at this point, if Trump just got the delegates he needed so it wouldn't come to that. But if he does and THEN they do a brokered convention anyway and Cruz supports it, the GOP and he are both dead to me.

that would not be a brokered convention; that would be outright autocracy...

That is most certainly NOT what Cruz is talking about. Cruz will likely have all the delegates he needs by the time of the California primary.

How dare you actually read and understand the statement made by Cruz! You can't do that on a post by Trump supporters who can only see what they want to see.

If Cruz now believes he can't win the nomination outright, he needs to do the right thing and drop out instead of hoping to strip votes from Trump. He must know that going into a contested convention, neither he nor Trump will be walking away with the nomination. The GOPe will control the process and who the delegates vote for.
