Tom Coburn: Rubio 'Trustworthy' and Electable, Cruz Not 'Effective' Working with Others, Trump Carni
Breitbart ^ | 3/10/2016 | John Hayward

Posted on 03/10/2016 8:29:53 AM PST by bkopto

He said Rubio was the most “trustworthy” and electable of the candidates, while Cruz has difficulty getting things done and would have too much difficulty winning support from voters who didn’t wholeheartedly agree with his ideas, and he dismissed Trump as a “carnival barker.”

Despite Rubio's perilous standing in the polls, on the eve of the crucial winner-take-all contest in his home state of Florida, Coburn remained convinced he was the strongest candidate for the general election.

"I look at a person's heart, I look at how they voted, I look at whether I know them or not… and I'm out to win," said Coburn. "Here's one thing I know without a doubt: that if Marco Rubio is our candidate, we win. I don't think you can say that about anybody else for sure."

Is Coburn suffering from dementia?

I don’t doubt that Rubio is an easier guy to do business with than Cruz. I do think that Washington is due a disruption, and to that end it is better to do so in a purposeful way than to end up with revolution in the streets. It is a mistake for DC to look down their collective noses at Donald Trump.

Like many Republican office holders, he’s just plain dumb as a fence post.

Rubio facing off against Clinton would be too much like Lazio facing off against Clinton.

The results would likely be similar.

Let’s make sure as many people as possible can’t stand the 2 most likely republican nominees.

There are much better ways to build up your candidate and point out differences with the other candidates that aren’t going to hurt for November. For instance: “Rubio is more effective than Cruz at working with others”. Let Hillary be the one to talk about how Cruz is “not effective”.

I’m pretty sure the RNC has already decided they want Hillary and a D senate.

Coburn bashed Newt Gingrich in 2012 on Fox saying he can’t finish what he starts. He just revealed himself as loving the front man for amnesty for illegals. (Rubio)

Trump is like Don Rickles, who hasn't he insulted?

He has insulted every nominee and by extension their supporters.

But hey, I hear he's good at making deals.

I agree wholeheartedly. Cruz has been my guy from the beginning.

But, if Trump does end up the nominee; I’ll have a big decision to make. But, not voting is out of the question.

“Cruz seems to do a better job winning people over than Rubio. Just sayin’.”

I agree. He won the Bushes over pretty quick. :-)

The fact that inside the beltway is mystified by all of the populism tells me that they really do not understand what they are dealing with. Numerous members have expressed that sentiment along with a fair amount of contempt for the people who do not feel as they do. I suppose that works inside the beltway, goodness knows we have been treated to quite a lot of theater along those lines. Coburn is a member of that society/group/culture(?), so while I’m sure we all appreciate his take on all of this, it fails to address the relevant issue of what the country needs.

We are facing profound changes in the coming decades, having “representative” government that is mystified and out of touch can’t be allowed to continue.

Gosh, I hope Trump uses this segment in commercials where Cruz is pulling a lot of votes. It really lays bare Cruz’s superiority complex.

Remind me again who Tom Coburn is.

He appears to be another conservative who doesn’t like Conservatives, kinda like McConnell and Haley Barbour.
