Marco Rubio: "Getting harder every day" to back Trump if he's the nominee

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio decried Donald Trump's baiting and "offensive" rhetoric Saturday morning, following an eruption of violence at an event for the GOP front-runner in Chicago the previous night.

"I think we also have to look at the rhetoric coming from the front-runner in the presidential campaign," Rubio told reporters in Largo, Florida. "This is a man who, in rallies, has told his supporters to basically beat up the people who are in the crowd and he will pay their legal fees. Someone who has basically encouraged people in the audience to rough up anyone who stands up and says something he doesn't like."

(snip)

When asked if he would still back the eventual Republican nominee if it was Donald Trump, Rubio responded: "I don't know."

"I still at this moment continue and intend to support the Republican nominee, but, getting harder every day," he said. An email sent out by his campaign later Saturday referred to the scenes from the cancelled Chicago rally as something "we would see in a third-world country."

Trump is doing just fine.

I am very proud to support him.

Very much so.

Rubio is horrible. Cruz showed cheap opportunism siding with BLM, but he’s not really so bad. But Rubio is horrible.

Who cares? Nobody believed him when he took the pledge, nobody believes him when he says he'll stand for any particular principle if/when he gets elected, and the entire "pledge" scam by the RNC was intended to trap Trump, not them. Seeing as how the pledge didn't work as planned, it's essentially void anyway.

Same goes for the party. It's not trustworthy.

As in cat, you mean. Rubio is a pussy cat. Yep.

No linquist here, but the Cuban version of that term, I believe, is as offensive as the Hispanic.

But that means I REALLY agree, at least until he starts being part of the solution.

Where’s the party loyalty, Rubio? If Trump is the nominee, you are honorably bound to support him. You’d certainly expect the reverse. In fact, I have no doubt you’d ask Trump to campaign for you. That’s what being a party member is about. If you don’t like it, then become an independent.

Ted is a detestable Traitor now. I can’t abide a back stabber who condones and incites leftists to violence and tramples on the free speech right of REPUBLICAN Voters. He’s a total scumbag and should never be trusted again. This will be his undoing as many cannot even hold their nose to vote for him at this point. Just wait and see what happens at the ballot box...I can’t wait.

Soon Cruz will be saying the same.

I guess THE PLEDGE was supposed to only apply to Trump?

Pre Obama and Soros our nation was a much happier and more peaceful place. Because of their meddling and theirs alone we are becoming a third world country.

“I knew speaking your mind could be dangerous in Havana,” Tancredo said in a statement. “I guess it’s equally dangerous to do so in Miami.”
