Wow, stupid college students.
I heard that group of black students were yelling profanities and insults, even before the rally began. I don’t know if that’s true or not. There are many ways to disrupt a crowd without a microphone and spotlight. They may have had angry slogans written on their clothing. That’s a common passive-aggressive technique.
Our HOA is privately-owned townhomes. Yet in the past 20 years there has been increasing amounts of trespassing in people's yards by young people who simply do not understand the meaning of "private property." They think other people's carefully tended grass is theirs to trample and other people's gardens are toilets for their dogs -- and no, we are not allowed to fence large areas according to by-laws. (I'm never living in an HOA again, but that's another thread.)
Recently a storm blew a large tree limb into the backyard of one of these young owners. She approached me, an HOA Board volunteer, and indignantly demanded, "When are they coming to remove the tree limb from my yard?"
"They" is presumably a sky god's angels who will take care of her adult responsibilites. She had absolutely no concept that her own yard is hers to care for, and wanted all the other neighbors' dues to pay for her clean-up instead of her own insurance policy.
