Turkey is threatening to close the Bosphorous Straight and that would leave him with no easy way to bring in more ships etc (they would be trapped per say)
When Turkey gets more involved , not if but when because it won’t be long he will need to stop them up north or he will have them heading to Russia . The strategic spot to stop them is Armenia and that is where he is moving his troops to.
Assad is also done is Syria , he does not have the man power etc to return things back to normal, Putin knows this and he knows the entire area is about to explode.
