(CNSNews.com) - The U.S. House of Representatives voted 393 to 0 tonight in favor of a resolution declaring that the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) is committing genocide against Christians, Yezidis and other religious minorities in the Middle East.
The vote on the resolution, which was sponsored by Rep. Jeff Fortenberry (R.-Neb.) and co-sponsored 203 other members, brought together as broad a coalition as possible in the House. Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (the chairman of the Democratic National Committee) joined with House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Rep. Louie Gohmert (R.-Texas) in voting for it.
In total, there were 229 Republican votes for it and 164 Democratic votes for it.
The House resolution declared that "the atrocities perpetrated by ISIL against Christians, Yezidis, and other religious and ethnic minorities in Iraq and Syria constitute war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide."

Boehner’s seat in Ohio is up for a vote today. I don’t know the other.
Let me guess, that Rep from Minnesota was “absent”.
I am shocked, but good for them.
I once read a magazine article that told the story of
the intended “CLINTON DYNASTY”. It was supposed to be
first 8 yrs. of Bill, then 8 yrs. of Gore, then 8 yrs. of
Hillary, after that - who knows what horrors lurked. . but,
the total was to be no less than 24 yrs. of the “CLINTON
DYNASTY”. - Of course, it was almost thwarted because Bill
couldn’t keep it in his britches. Gore was “almost”
elected, but for the Freepers who rallied at the Democrat
controlled voting headquarters in Florida to keep the
Democrats “counting” the “hanging chads” honest. (Whoever
the Freeper was who was wearing the “smiley face” badge
& standing in the window observing the Democrat “chad
counters”, we all owe him & the whole bunch a huge vote
of thanks! - IF the Senate had hung with the House and
REMOVED Bill, MAYBE we’d be shed of the Harridan Hillary
before this late date; but they did not. Why not would be
interesting to know the truth about!
But John Kerry says that “we still have to study the situation”.
