What Quagmire? Even in Withdrawal, Russia Stays a Step Ahead

By MARK LANDLERMARCH 15, 2016

WASHINGTON — For five years, President Obama has steadfastly rejected the argument that the United States could intervene in Syria, alter the equation on the battlefield and avoid being sucked into a quagmire. Now, it appears that President Vladimir V. Putin has done exactly that.

The Putin Doctrine: Go in. Kill them even in Mosques or hospitals. Break the enemy. Hand the keys over to ally. Go home.

And THIS is exactly what we should have done in Afghanistan.

Even withdrawing the Russians make it harder on Obama, and sadly us since we are saddled with his insane leadership.

Per article:

--------------

But the announcement is a reminder that since September, when Russia thrust itself into the conflict, Mr. Putin has consistently seemed a step ahead of the United States on Syria. His withdrawal could also prolong the American-led campaign against the Islamic State, also known as ISIS, because while Moscow trained most of its firepower against anti-government forces, it also struck Islamic State targets.

The Pentagon spokesman, Peter Cook, said on Tuesday that Russian airstrikes had occurred over the last 24 hours, and those airstrikes were carried out against the Islamic State.

“Suddenly, the Russians are no longer as available for the fight against ISIS,” said Andrew J. Tabler, an expert on Syria at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. “That would seem to put a longer timetable on this war and a greater burden on the United States and the West.”

Let’s be real. Russia went in there and wiped out all the rebels that Obama armed but the US news won’t tell you that.

“Syria doesn’t have to be a slippery slope,” Mr. Tabler said. “Putin actually demonstrated you could intervene, bomb, put troops on the ground and still get out. They effectively changed the situation on the ground, and kept the regime from collapsing.”

This alignment between Marxism and Islam has been in the works for a couple of generations and it’s current incarnation is propelled mainly by Cold War inertia as post Soviet Russia sees its Frankenstein monster gyrating out of control. The left thinks Moslem terrorists will do the wet work for their “revolution” and they will emerge unscathed into a pagan utopia. It is an alignment requiring massive and transparent quantities of schizophrenic dementia which the quickly growing Trump demographic is not buying for an instant. Leftist “new age empaths” and their anarcho-trotskyite herders find themselves crawling in bed with throat slitting, genital mutilating, life hating zombies. This is a psychotic disconnect with reality and it’s going to bite them on the ass real soon. One more terrorist attack in the US and it’s game over, Trump in the White House and a Republican Congress. Obama’s “Arab Spring” may well have been engineered in the committee rooms of the Comintern’s ghost.

This Post Soviet inertia is under no one’s control, tho various factions ride its coattails. Bringing the beast down is going to require both finesse and a fist between the eyes. I want to see more press attacking the sanity of leftists who espouse pacifism, feminism and progressive jurisprudence who then erect insane cognitive barriers to protect them from what they actually witness in Moslem behavior. We need to roll out our best brains in psychology and social commentary to analyze this glaring contradiction between their espoused pacifist world view and their tolerance for proxy id monster gore fests.

It is truly an embarrassing blemish on the history of the United States of America to have the anus orifice Obama as having been one of our Presidents.

This alignment between Marxism and Islam has been in the works for a couple of generations....

Nonsense. The alignment was between Marxists and Muslims who wanted to get rid of Islam the same way Chinese commies wanted to get rid of their middle ages civilization. That is what the Ba'athists and Qaddafi were all about.

The USA via Saudi Arabia used Islamism (overtly religious Muslim ideologies) as a pushback against the secularizing atheist Muslims. The commies that took over Afghanistan in the late 1970s were atheists and chose communism because they thought it was the best way to modernize the country. The pushback came in the form of jihad.

That is reality.

“This alignment between Marxism and Islam “

They are fellow travelers with totalitarian aims. They compliment each other nicely because of that.

Russia can fight such small wars.

America can’t, because its impossible for the Left and those under its sway to allow it.

Sorry but it would appear that the Saudis succeeded in giving the Russians a big enough payoff to leave. Why else would the Russians agree to “peace talks” just as final victory was about to be achieved over the jihadists. They just about had the Turkish/Syrian border sealed, Aleppo was about to fall and the “rebels” were disheartened and surrendering. It would have been a severe strategic defeat for Saudi Arabia if the Sunni jihadists that they recruited, supplied and salaried had collapsed. That defeat very well could have been the beginning of the end for the cash starved, very stressed, corrupt House of Saud. The Russians did, as all countries do, what was in their best interest. However Christians, women, secularists and non Sunni peoples who had hope and solace from the Russian interventions, will again be mercilessly persecuted by the barbarian jihadists.

Putin's goals in Syria have been accomplished.

ISIS has been devastated to the point where Assad's troops can deal with them alone

The Turkish black market oil trade has been dismantled, cutting ISIS financial life line and starving ISIS for cash.

The main ISIS opposition was the US/Saudi backed core that coincidentally was focused on taking control of the real estate needed to build a pipe line from Saudi Arabia to the Russian naval base and deep water harbor on the Mediterranean coast.

A potential Saudi led Arab coalition invasion of Syria under cover of a pan Islamic/Arab joint military exercises was stopped and dismantled, the timing of which coincidentally coincided with the detonation of a North Korean hydrogen bomb that just suddenly appeared out of no where, stunning western intelligence sources.

Also in the mix, were ballistic missile tests from both N Korea and Iran, who is the N Koreans main partner in nuclear proliferation.

Iran is also a recent partner with Russia and a number of weapons, missile and nuclear collaborations.

At the same time Russia was warning Turkey and the Saudis that they would consider using nuclear weapons if Syria was invaded

Even more interestingly, Russia just warned North Korea they would invade North Korea if the N Koreans kept on threatening the United States, Japan and S Korean and others with attacks using their new Hydrogen bomb technology and capability.

Perhaps Russia was sending the Saudis and Turkey a well timed message that it would be unwise to invade Syria because Russia had or was willing to supply Iranian with Nukes via N Korean cutouts.

At any rate, the Russian attack planes have pretty much run out of targets in ISIS held territory and has pretty much only been re arranging the rubble of already destroyed ISIS camps and strongholds so their work was done

The Obama Doctrine - Pull out after a hard fought victory, claim job done, watch defeated foe rise up and act like barbarians running around cutting off heads and selling women and children into slavery, announce that everything is good, and sick your lawyers on your soldiers for harming the enemy during combat.

Putin is old school, Obama is stuck-on-stupid school
