The Justice Department has confirmed that a .50 caliber sniper rifled found at El Chapo's Mexican hideout and used to shoot down helicopters was sold through the Fast and Furious program.
The rifle was found inside the Los Mochis property where the Sinaloa Cartel kingpin was discovered hiding on January 8 this year before a raid by the Mexican Marines that led to his capture.

Man those sniper rifles get around.
Operation Fast & Furious had as its central purpose the subversion of the US Constitution. The program's strategy was to gin up a furor over guns sourced in the US being used in Mexican crime so that the US public could be stampeded into restricting the 2nd Amendment. Since few such guns were being used in Mexico more had to be supplied. They also had to show up at crime scenes so that they could be traced back to the US to 'prove' the Obama administration's assertions.
The GOP should be harping on one message every time F&F is mentioned. F&F was a program cynically designed to result in Mexican deaths - so that 'evil' US-sourced guns could be found at the crime scenes and US gun laws could be blamed for the carnage. Holder, Napolitano, Hillary and Obama and a host of their minions cooked up this program knowing that Mexicans would die - in fact, needing Mexicans to die for this scheme to work. The Obama administration was cynically willing to slaughter Hispanics to accomplish their political purposes. The only "botch" in the scheme was F&F guns turning up to get Americans killed too.
Maybe Trump will pick up on this. No one else in the quisling party has.
Ah, the old “shoot down helicopters” line. Sounds like someone needs to raise the orbit of the Space Station. How come we don’t use those as anti aircraft/missile interceptors?
They know this rifle actually shot down helicopters? Or are they just saying it’s capable.
I thought .50 cal was just used for taking out main battle tanks, high-altitude bombers and low-orbit spacecraft.
