Goddamnit, Flake is floating a trial balloon out of fear. Hey Jeff, what if we defer to President Trump and let him pick not only Nino's replacement, but Goldbrick's as well.

But then Flake is probably scared of a 7-2 Conservative SCOTUS...

You might try reading what the man said before commenting: “Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake, a Republican on the Judiciary Committee who is generally deferential on presidential nominees, said “yes” when asked whether he would move to confirm Garland in the lame-duck session if Hillary Clinton, the front-runner for the Democratic nomination, wins in November.”

Flake was responding to a hypothetical “if Clinton wins”. In that case, there would be no President Trump.
