"I can announce that we will introduce a new sugar levy on the soft drinks industry," Osborne said, adding that the tax would be on drinks with more than five grammes of sugar per 100 millilitres.

"We all know one of the biggest contributors to childhood obesity is sugary drinks.

What’s with all these other lib govs, just now imposing a tax on sugared soft drinks? Illinois did it in 2009 and the legislature is talking about raising it.

Gotta hand it to Illinois though, Illinois doesn’t tax retirement income.

Now I’ve spilled the beans, there are probably a lot of ignorant dem legislators that didn’t know that.

The Chancellor of the Exchequer is a Tory, a member of David Cameron’s “Conservative Party”.

They are desperate for tax revenue. What’s next? Pot and Prostitution, I guess.

If you drive a car, I'll tax the street,
If you try to sit, I'll tax your seat.
If you get too cold I'll tax the heat,
If you take a walk, I'll tax your feet.

Government's theme song...

While they’re at it, why not a special tax on candy, ice cream and chocolates. Tax sugar at the source before it makes its way into foods. And, don’t tax healthy things like sales of water and bland foods. Tax fat people with a citation when you see them. Government is just full of ideas. We’re better off without government at all.

They got it right. If the people of the formerly mighty nation known as Great Britain voted for a national health care act then this is an direct product of that recklessness

“We all know one of the biggest contributors to childhood obesity is sugary drinks.”

Maybe they are afraid to go outside to play due to the Muslim overflow.
Fruit juices have just as much sugar as soft drinks.

They must have watched an episode of Law & Order SVU, where a woman was raped and murdered, but she worked for BIG SODA, and every character in the squad had a line about kids waddling due to BIG SODA. Libs?

COMPUTERS are the leading contributor to obesity. Maybe they should TAX computer usage and prolonged desk-sitting!
