Lindsey Graham will raise money for Ted Cruz — a man he has said some amazingly bad things about
Washington Post ^ | 3/17/16 | Aaron Blake

Sen. Lindsey Graham will soon raise money for Ted Cruz's presidential campaign, as CNN's Dana Bash just reported.

Which is an amazing turn of events, given the things Graham previously said about Cruz. He has said on multiple occasions that Cruz is would be the death of the Republican Party and is no better than Donald Trump. He has even joked about killing Cruz.

To wit (in reverse chronological order):

Feb. 26: “I was asked the hardest question in my political life: Do you agree with Donald Trump that Ted Cruz is the biggest liar in politics?” he said. “Too close to call.”

Feb. 26 (a joke, but still): “If you killed Ted Cruz on the floor of the Senate, and the trial was in the Senate, nobody would convict you,” Graham said, referencing the Tea Party senator’s unpopular reputation with his colleagues.

I would not trust Graham as far as I could throw him.

His and the GOPe interests will be to use Cruz only to defeat Trump, and then to throw Cruz to the curb at the convention in order to replace him with their own.

The fact is, Graham hates both Trump and Cruz...and has said as much.

I predict all of the GOPe’s efforts are going to fail.

The people are aroused and determined that the GOPe will be pushed aside.

All of the voting makes this clear.

The two candidates that the GOPe loathes have received a vast majority of the vote (over 65%) and a vast majority of the delegates (over 75%) to date.

That’s not going to stop.

Trump is going to win the delegates he needs to be the nominee.

Am I the only one who is completely repulsed by this?

Amazing, the Conservative Icons who turned out to be total frauds.

It’s one thing for an unsolicited endorsement, but a fundraiser?

I guess we’ll be seeing Graham and Romney on the campaign trail with Cruz before too long.

So, it’s ok if LG throws in with TC, as long as fundraising happens, but the same media that is thrilled with this thinks the acrimony between DJT and TC is too deep...

I think there is still plenty of time to close the deal.

Don’t worry, He is not supporting Ted for President. He is supporting him for a brokered convention. They will install their own cover man.

Honest question.

Next town hall with TC I wish someone would ask...

Who exactly is left to fight against in this “Washington Cartel” that we were all opposed to this time last year?

The usual suspects all seem to be deeply involved in the finances of the Cruz campaign.

“Lindsey Graham will raise money for Ted Cruz — a man he has said some amazingly bad things about”

Why is Senator Cruz doing this? Why is he sucking up to Lindsey Graham? Why is he still screwing around with Glenn Beck. Why is he trying to divide the Republican Party?

He should be working to unify the party and unify conservatives.

Politics makes strange bedfellows ( sorry about that - I’ve heard about Lindsay? But anyway the idea otherwise applies )
