I hope his telling the truth and not simply trying trick Trump into a false sense of security.

Do you think that a man who tells the truth would be the head of the RNC, and does the GOP ever do anything other than trick people?

I would not trust RNC chair Rancid Prius to tell the truth any further than I could throw the Queen Mary's anchor. He's simply a liar and deceiver and RINO.

PRIEBUS: Well, sure it would. Of course it would. But I also think its far too late. I think this is its somewhat some folks find it to be interesting and thats great. But it isnt likely and its probably too late and there is no definitive answer right now as to who the nominee is going to be of our party. So I think all of its far too early, George.
Double speak anyone? Good grief. What a doofus.

His point is that it is far too late for a third party effort - which is correct - and too early to say that Trump is the nominee, which is also correct.
Both are perfectly reasonable statements that are consistent with each other.

Is this a head fake, or is Preibus being candidly honest here?
It would be a lot more convincing if he said flat out that no shenanigans of any type will be allowed, which could rob the people of their choice of nominee.

Reince’s weaselly comments didn’t mention an effort to ensure that Hillary wins.

I suspect some of the rank and file Republicans in Congress are voicing their concern to Preibus of how destructive an ‘Anybody but Trump’ candidate would be to their reelection prospects. They may not love the idea of a Trump candidacy, but they know that stealing it from him at the convention would be suicidal, and they would feel the brunt of voter anger with a massive rejection of the GOP at the ballot box this November. The self-preservation instinct is kicking in for them. Trump’s back channel discussions with GOP members of Congress is probably helping them to understand this.

I agree with you about elected Republicans pressuring GOP insiders to abandon their ‘Stop Trump’ campaign. I’ve already decided that I will take revenge against any and all GOP incumbents if the party steals the electoral process from the people.

Me too. And the more they’re made aware of this, the better.
