I hope his telling the truth and not simply trying trick Trump into a false sense of security.

Do you think that a man who tells the truth would be the head of the RNC, and does the GOP ever do anything other than trick people?

I’m not too worried about Trump getting tricked.

Blowing smoke out of both sides for now.

The ‘story’ of a contested convention has gone from nonexistent to a whisper to an item of interest to a regular topic, and will progress in the direction of a fait accompli.

As the above process of public dissemination continues, Priebus will weigh more to the ‘new reality’ emerging of a contested convention BUT ONLY IF it appears Trump will fall short of 1237.

If either Cruz or Kasich drops out, then Trump wins.

Kasich is mathematically eliminated yet he’s still in. This reveals he’s a tool for GOP establishment players. So Kasich will not drop out as he holds Ohio delegates which will not go to Trump. One can bet the Kasich campaign is funded by PACS that aim to deny Trump.

Cruz will be mathematically eliminated soon. He will most probably stay in because of his campaign debts. He’s trapped by debt. Trump can assume his debt but does not need to at the moment because he made not need any of Cruz’ delegates.

Final moves are coming soon.

I read that as “it’s over” and “please drop your guard.”

I fully expect to get sucker punched.

Trump's no fool - they can't lie and get him to relax....only to be betrayed. if they betray him (and us) he will make sure it is out in the open and all the dirt will be visible. Priebus knows this and he isn't quite as stupid as he seems to have thought us before Trump came along.

Telling the truth? Not likely. Priebus reminds me of the Supreme Chancellor in "Revenge of the Sith"

Mace Windu: [has Palpatine subdued] I'm going to put an end to this, once and for all!
Anakin Skywalker: You can't. He must stand trial.
Mace Windu: He has control of the senate and all the courts. He is too dangerous to be left alive!
Supreme Chancellor: [exhausted and disfigured] But, I'm too weak. Don't kill me.
Anakin Skywalker: That's not the Jedi way. He must live.
[Windu ignores Anakin, still intending to kill Palpatine]
Anakin Skywalker: I need him!
[Windu raises his lightsaber]
Anakin Skywalker: NO!
Supreme Chancellor: [Anakin draws his own lightsaber, cutting off Windu's arm, then Palpatine electrocutes Windu] Power, unlimited power!
Supreme Chancellor: [to Anakin] Once more, the Sith will rule the galaxy. And, we shall have peace.

There’s no point in even voting in the rest of the primaries. It’s all over. /s

I’ve seen him on TV at least half a dozen times and he actually has repeated himself consistently. The party will support whoever gets to 1,237 delegates. No funny business. We’ll see.
