No, it was his buddy Mittens who attacked Trump’s wife. And that opened the door for Trump to bring out some more info on Cruz’s wife which made the Cruzbots stamp their feet and whine cuz their safe place had been invaded.

Do you think that this type of qualified remark is really going to change anything? Cruz's minions did attack Trump's wife. It took Cruz two days to even pretend that he didn't approve of the attack. I believe they all know the facts. It just does not fit their narrative. Did you ever dream such a large part on the right would be just like the left? If I weren’t seeing it I wouldn’t believe it. A reality show election with a candidate who cannot even control his tweets.
He benefited from the attack and did not disavow it until Trump hit back. If he had come out right away and said he condemned it and it should be taken down then Cruz could complain about Trumps attack. But he didn’t he hoped he could benefit from it and not pay a price.
Of course not that would be illegal! But Trump does not take crap from some supposed angelic evangelical whose supposed angelic evangelical supporters think this is the road they must travel to beat Trump.
