Have we proven, or disproven, the claim by GQ that it was Roe who bought a copy of Melania’s photo shoot?
So, I have done a few Internet searches about this.

Results: Nothing showing Ben Shales in GQ Sales.

Have you found anything authoritative that shows Ben Shales at GQ?
Also, there is a separate company, Conde Nast, that handles all permissions for the use of copyrighted photos from GQ. It is apparently not handled by anyone at GQ.

No. The claim that Roe purchased the rights to the photo have appeared in some third-rate blogs or Twitter, but nothing remotely reliable.
