Gerson does not seem to understand that first you have to win then you can preach conservatism. Conservatism seems to have it backwards. Lose everything and stay pure and principled. Limbaugh is more pragmatic. If Trump wins he does not want to be left out of the limelight like Levin. Limbaugh understands the gravy train.

I think Rush was losing ratings when he promoted Rubio or even Cruz.

Trump is the only guy with the balls and money to destroy the GOPe. The voters have figured it out. We want the existing political establishment out of power and government axed 20-30%.

The richest counties in America shouldn’t be anywhere near D.C.

Trump is the tool to destroy the power structure. He’s our revolution.

I’m not buying this.

Rush has not been favorable to Trump “AT ALL”.

It has been exasperating at times.

The idea Trump got Rush’s blessing is a pipe dream > IMO.

I don’t listen to Rush, but I think I would have heard about it.

Is this a divide-and-conquer strategy by the WP and the DC powers that be?

They tried belittlement of Trump for about a year. Perhaps the powers that be have now grown tired of that particular strategy?

The MSM has been giving hardcore support to liberals for decades. Now they are giving advice to Rush Limbaugh?

LOL

No conservative supports Trump. There are people who call themselves conservative because they identify with one or two conservative precepts, and they don’t seem to have any trouble with Trump, so long as he’s talking about their pet concerns.

Total BS. Regrettably, Rush is grasping for relevance. He lost faith in the U.S. a few years ago.

There is this idea out there, that Trump is antithetical to Conservatism. I do not believe that is the case.

He is an America firster, and shares a lot of platform planks with Reagan.

Folks are probably going to dislike some of the things he does, but I think he’s going to push through a lot of our agenda too.

I’m happy he’s doing well. I do not think he is the death of Conservatism.

Let’s recall that they considered the likes of McCain, Romney, McConnell, Boehner, Priebus, and Ryan to be Conservatives.

Excuse me, but that right there was the death of Conservatism.

Trump is standing up for us folks.

If anything, Trump is breathing new life into Conservatism, and it’s driving some folks absolutely crazy.

Michael Gerson and his boss Dubya did an excellent job of “killing conservatism” all on their own.

Amnesty attempted. Religion of Peace. Jobs Americans Won’t Do. Harriet Miers

What if it is not schtick?

>>>Gerson does not seem to understand that first you have to win then you can preach conservatism.

You think you can sneak in freedom, liberty, the constitution and rule of law?

The problem is not the message, but the messenger. And, with Trump, you have both the wrong message and the wrong messenger.

If you win, you will have won nothing. Trump and Hillary will debate who can be the best tyrant and who can ‘manage’ big government best.

Gerson wouldn’t recognize conservatism if it bit him in the ass.

He’s cut out of the same cloth as David Brooks - both are eunuchs.

Not his endorsement. Limbaugh takes pains to preserve neutrality between Trump and Ted Cruz, whom he describes as the obvious choice "if conservatism is the dominating factor in how you vote."

Patently false. Limbaugh is totally in the Cruz camp. He's just hedging a little in case the GOPe takedown of Trump isn't successful, which looks to be the case.

But Limbaugh has also consistently defended Trump as a legitimate choice for those whose dominating factor is the humiliation of "the establishment."

That's because Donald Trump is a legitimate choice to take down the DC Establishment.

Humiliation has nothing to do with it: the DC Establishment of both parties needs to be absolutely obliterated.

Nothing could be more important for the American People of all political persuasions than for the DC status quo to be shaken to its core. Nothing.
